Freewheelers Ride Tomorrow Night?

I'm hitting up the MAFW ride tonight from Loantaka.

It'll be my first time. I was going to hit up Lewis Morris but I think even that place will still be muddy.

I was going to be lazy and sit on my ass tonight, but Jdog rang my phone and said he was heading to the rocky hill ride with Kelly. I'm easily convinced to ride so off I went.

Janes group was big tonight, with some good paced riding. I learned that a big and late Thai food lunch before climbing = BAD. Once my furnace was lit it got ugly, way too much pepper and noodles in the gut. Heartburn city!! :drooling:

Jdog broke a spoke on his back wheel and we (Jdog, Kelly and I) peeled off the pack and headed back. Still got a good ride in. Mrs. Jdog is strong and climbs like a goat. The rowing backround she has shows its colors on the bike. Fun night, and I'm glad I didn't sit on my ass like I planned. 😛

I'm so out of shape. I went on the slowest group, I'd say average age was 65 excluding me.

First 15 miles was at 14.5 mph. Last 7miles were slower, no idea how quick we were going. 2nd time on a road bike.

So out of shape!

I'm looking for a whipaaa smiley for Jdog  😛

We had a good ride out of Cranbury

The group loop -

With the ride to an from home, it was a 60 mile ride.

Soon as I left the house, got a flat. I had 15 mins to get to the place. Normally it takes 12 minutes at normal pace. Took 5 mins to change the tire (I'm slow that way). So I was in a 3 minute deficit and those fvkers leave on time. I sprinted the 4.5 miles and luckily made it just in time.

Started with 10 people, finished with 6

Unfortunately no teamies 🙁

In the last 7 miles, it started pouring down rain. Just buckets. When you're in the pack, with it coming down from the top, and the spray from the tires in front of you, it feels like you're totally immersed. I'm getting a bit annoyed with this weather 😉. Came home smelling like road.

And ... the orange and blue jersey took the sprint at the end!!

Was thinking about doing the ride (I'm too slow for the men's ride so I do the B+) but decided against it due to the possibility of rain... I HATE washing my bike 😱

I was dead the last 3 or 4 miles. I should have brought one more gel which should have gotten me through it.

Thanks to Kathryn for waiting up for the slowpoke.

You should have said hi, what jersey were you? I had plenty of gel

Oh yea, did you see that crazy dog plow into one of the guys? And the trailer trash owner just sat there, didn't even call him :hmmm:

The sky opened the flood gates about 15 minutes after I got home last night. I wasnt all that unhappy that Jdog had wheel issues..... 😀

I didn't know who was who, having never met anyone before. 😀 Thanks though.

Yea, that dog was crazy...I was actually pulling at that moment and almost hit the dog myself. Scary to hear that dog has done that before & the owners were standing on the driveway! Lucky the dog ran through the frame of that guy and not into the wheel.

I had on the black & orange Addictive Cycles jersey - on the black and yellow Tarmac.

I was in the mtbnj.com jersey ... 🙂

Yes, I remember you. Likewise I only know a couple people there.

I plan to go to the Thursday, same time, same place.

Serious?! It jumped through the frame? Thats crazy!

Actually, I think that's not right. ZAC was in front, I was behind the guy so I had the full view. The dog in reality did hit the spokes / backwheel and bounced off. The bike fishtailed but the guy (who was over 50) managed a great save.

Oh, wow. Thought I heard him say it ran under the frame. (Didn't mean through in my previous post) I was wrong anyway. 😉

I hope (although not very likely) the owners are getting the mutt checked out at the vet today.

NFW is that accurate. The Garmin calorie counts leave a bit to be desired.

Well, unless Kush is like 598 pounds. And man, that would be an impressive average if so.
