Frozen water main - suggestions?

i don't know why they didn't use a trencher - guess you still need to dig out enough room to work on the meter side, but geez... that is alot of machine.

they staying low, or following the old route?
Trenchers don't work well in heavy rock soil.

Sit rep: we're fucked.
Gigantic rock between us and the street. Waiting in the Rock guy. Possible explosives. Meaning permitting and waiting. Or we do what we've already done in the opposite direction, toward another street and do a "wet tap" into the main there. So, pretty much double the money, no matter which way it goes.
Here's our rock. So happy...

That blows. At least you got to ride outside yesterday though.

I vote explosives.

piece of cake

Wait, there’s a realistic chance of an explosion?!?! Now we can resurrect @soulchild’s live stream! Here’s to hoping @seanrunnette wins the lottery....cuz if he doesn’t, we’re all on the wrong end of the game of karma whack-a-mole.

Welp, no explosions. 3 days with a 12000 lb hammer MIGHT get it done. We're trebly fucked, as I'm now in the "who's in charge of this?" part of the process, trying to find out if it's possible to do a "wet tap" into the main on another street. The diggers have gone home and I'm stuffing marine putty into a broken valve so we can get water from the neighbor's house again. No luck on that minor front, either. I miss our stupid townhouse.

rying to find out if it's possible to do a "wet tap" into the main on another street

Water company is the one who can tell you that I believe.
Is it a shorter run? There's still the possibility of rock between that curb and your house. I don't envy your situation.

The water company is the Morris Country MUA, correct? Phone tree and promises of a call back...
