Giant Lust 27.5 Review

I picked up this new bike from Halter's on Friday. I was looking for a new full suspension bike and Jason recommend I go in the direction because of my size.

I rode it yesterday for the first time and I have to say that I absolutely love it. It fits me perfectly. It is nimble and quick like a 26" bike and rolls beautifully like a 29" bike.

It is also the quietest bike I have ever seen. Not a bit of chain slap, no noise when I shift, nothing. Stealthy. I like that.

I can't speak to the benefits for taller folks, but if you are on the smaller side and have hesitated about getting a 29" bike, I think your answer may be out there.

Thanks Jason for pointing me in the right direction, you were spot on, as usual.

Here is a picture. Sorry for the double post, I could not get the pic to upload.

The derailleur clutch is probably one of my favorite innovations. They need them on cross bikes.

Ruth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've had my eye on this bike for sometime now...saving up for it. Great to hear your review...my friend also has one and loves it!

I can't even say enough good stuff. It is amazing. They had to drag me out of the woods yesterday.

I might have lost a bit of rolling speed on flats compared to the 29" bike, but I do not even care. I will just pedal faster!

I had been saving money for a full ironman race for a few years, and then came to my senses about doing the race, so I had most of the money all tucked away! Made it even easier to pull the trigger.

LOVE IT.

Funny you bring this up as Pattys girlfriend just picked up one from halters to demo it. It will be her first mtb.

Ruth!!!

Cool new bike! Hope to see it, you, and Mr. T at the local woods one of these weekends.

Very nice bike hope you enjoy it, I think Giant has about the best bang for the buck right about now...

Hi Ruth! Nice to see you back here. We're supposed to ride bikes one of these days, I think. Nice to see you excited about the new bike!

Hi Normie,
I have spent the better part of the last year running, a LOT, so I am ready to ride bikes a LOT, so I/we would love to ride with you any time. Just let me get my bike legs back!

It's hard to compare it to the Anthem, I still love that bike but I have to hold back on the technical stuff because it's a steep stiff race machine. The Trance allows me to ride uphill as fast as I did on my Trance 29er and downhill way faster then my 6 inch travel 26inch Reign. For places like Ringwood, Mahlon, WayWay or Allamuchy it's an incredible trail bike!
