Going Long and Hard.

Or…. A great choice since gummed up RD’s could be in play. Mud sucks.
That's what I was thinking.

Probably a bad year for SS because it’s gonna be fast AF. I’m running a 32x20.
Or is it 30x20? Either will be spinny if it's frozen and fast.

Yeah, that pic is from last year. I ran a 30x22 last year. I was planning to swap the ring after I submitted the bike hoping it would snow, but it hasn’t. There is snow in the forecast for Sunday’s start so I’ll probably swap to the 22, or at least bring the tools to swap on the trail.

This is what the bike actually looks like.

Packet Pick Up and pre-race party tonight. Nice catching up with some old pals before we hit the trail. Kinda weird to think my first trip to the ITI was 9-years ago now 😳

Greg gave me a good tour of the bike museum. So much history hanging in that shop. Related, I also just randomly bumped into Roman Dial on my ride this morning. He spent about 45-minutes talking about some of his crazy adventures, including the first 3 Iditasports in the 80’s. He was also the guy who led the expedition to find out what happened to the Into The Wild kid. He’s in the book. Absolute legend. Google him.

Anywho, here’s the cool AF old Iditasport bikes again because they never aren’t amazing.

Pretty awesome bikes, with those double and triple wide wheels they must make our complaints about self steerer fat bike tires a different reality. Go get them Jim and stay safe, we'll be following your dot through another adventure.

I remember watching the show about the search for his missing son, it was heartbreaking.
