Going Long and Hard.

Blender Progress. It took me 2 days to get the sequence right to paint a texture map on this stupid knife. The class I’m taking was made in 2.8 and I have 4.4 so some of the tools changed. I bought an e book with all of the new features but it’s a bit tedious going between the 2. I signed up for the next harder class after this which I should be better at. I know how to rig and animate already I’m just bad at modeling. In real life they would be 2 different jobs. Like a penciler and inker in comics.

Trainer for longer today. This one went into some crazy climb after the route finished and I couldn’t pedal the bike. My legs stop working at like 300 watts and that’s not enough to climb on a track bike.

Then I worked on Per’s Project until about 5pm and kinda made progress in the right direction. At least I’m 90% on my lead now and just have to actually get it right on the recording. I can splice good sections together if it comes down to that.

Tried working more in colored pencil and blotched this one pretty hard. But whatever, it’s really just about doing it. At some point it might work itself out.

Is that Mickey Rourke in the wrestler? Now it's getting a little weird...

Are you using a blood pencil or just regular colored pencils for you portraits? When I was much younger my art teacher suggested I switched to a blood pencil for my drawings, it made it more difficult but the results were better looking, or maybe I just thought so...life got in the way, when I tried drawing again many years later I could not believe I had considered myself good at it as I sucked. Badly. Kudos for getting back in the saddle and do something creative with your forced time off, I would have probably be sitting on the couch, watch television and get even fatter...

I have a form of ADHD that forces me to stay busy. My wife calls it serial OCD, but officially I’m just textbook Hyperactive. Works well for the bike though.

I also use these pencils just because I have them, I prefer drawing with markers because I can get a lot done quickly. And I make a mess with charcoal like you’re supposed to use. I will purchase this blood pencil you speak of because it sounds metal.

I like to sleep. A lot. Got nothing else going.

My wife is home today because of Jesus so we went to the art store to buy BLOOD PENCILS.

The South American girl sketched with said ✏️ It’s kinda the same as the flesh colors that I have but darker. I like it, they were $2 a piece and I bought the 3 they had. I feel like that’s a classes worth. Also I feel like there’s some improvement in these over the last month?

Spent the rest of the day tracking for Per’s Project. I think I finally figured out my home studio setup. This should have come a bit easier considering 2 of my BFFs are sound guys and I’ve recorded 5 or 6 albums with them. But it’s also a lot easier to just show and record and not have to do any of the things 🤷

Also the Majesty absolutely rips.

I believe they're softer than regular pencils. I really like this last picture...are those pre-determined poses to highlight particular muscles and the ability to represent shapes by the shading?

There’s maybe 25 poses in the set I bought. They’re all from different angles so you can practice everything. Pretty neutral lighting. She has sets with more dramatic lights that make the muscle pop. I picked this set because they’re fairly easy.

Route #4 of this Series done. Was able to put out an actual effort for a little bit. Can’t stand on the bike yet though.

Spent many hours programming drums in Logic to learn how to do that.

Class at 2pm for 3-hours. All the poses seemed to fight me, 2 girls did weird twisted arms and fingers which is hard in 10 minutes.

This girl stuck her face in some plants.

The last girl was a lot easier to draw, even though I have an issue with comic booking faces because it’s what I know. There’s another person in class that just straight up draws the girls as comics, which I might do next week. Also I have to practice hands. I’m good at feet though.

Lazy Sunday.

Continued working on drum programming in Logic. I also downloaded a groove pack with 16 pre-made song sections so you can just plug them in and start recording guitars. I also need a bass plugin but we’ll work on that next.

Then the next Lesson in my Blender Modeling Course. Texture and Material mapping to make our apple look more appley. There’s only 3 more objects to map and then I can render this scene into a still.

Wrote a lead for Per's Project. Tracked it well enough to turn in. Now I have to make a video so I'm practicing overlaying video over a recorded audio track. in this case it sounds the same as the phone recording but I was just practicing getting them to line up so when I do a more complex cut up with the GoPro I have some basics down.

And Blender Progress. Today I made a metal bowl and a wood table. Super exciting stuff here.

No ride because we're taking a trip to the Fossil Museum tomorrow and I want to save my legs.
