Going too far … ?

Mr. Chainring
Watching this was tough. I actually got choked up. I shake my head in disbelief that Gee would even attempt it. The question has to be asked: Why? How far are you going to take this before you die?

From the looks of it, he couldn’t clear the top part clean. I mean the line wasn’t even rideable. He needed spotters to keep him from falling into the abyss. Then he goes and tries to ride it through.

He's wearing the RedBull helmet. He made a career out of pushing the limits. We all know there are huge risks involved with this sport. He knows that and is well aware of the consequences. Look at the videos Fabio and other guys are putting out. You wanna keep that RedBull helmet you gotta get gnarly.

We're to the point that not much looks impressive anymore. Same with skiing, cliff diving, etc. Sort of like a junkie needing to take each dose closer to death to get the same high.

Yes, this is true. But then I watch this and think that even had he cleaned it, it's just stupid beyond belief.

There's some dude I follow on IG that rides this knife shit-type stuff all the time. He is from the EU somewhere, maybe France. He's just a ticking time bomb waiting to Corbliss himself into oblivion. I find that half the time I can't even watch anymore.

The ReBull hard line (or whatever) from a month ago is just bring a new normal level of batshit. I mean these massive 50-100' road gaps are part of the "normal" course. It's somewhat mind-blowing to watch this stuff.

Liked for using the term "Corbliss himself" That dude is fucking insane.

I had heard about this "accident" and knew what was coming but, that rag doll made me audibly gasp

Hardline didn't seem that extreme, it looked like a DH course for freeriders. Rampage is the real Evil Keneval deal with ridiculous consequences (ie. falling off a cliff and plummeting to your doom). But its all relative (to them) i guess.

The filming of hardline is tough. There are sections you can’t really see from the broadcast ( and this is coming from a video director) but there are blind drops into straight tech. Those tech sections are so gnarly that the video crew can’t event get gear there to show the raw side. Rampage isn’t a race so it’s not in the same cat. Imagine rolling rampage level hits with a clock ticking…. Totally different monster. Either way, Gee is an animal.

I even feared for the spotters! The whole thing was crazy.

I am with @Soundguy on this one. The filming makes it seem less nuts. The POV is crazy enough. But when you see some of these "normal" jumps from below, it brings a new level of appreciation for the insanity. It's way, way bigger than it seems from POV.

More than that, this isn't a 2 feature, 30 second reel for social media. This is 4 minutes of massive insane hit after hit after hit.

I find some of Fabio's in town stuff hard to watch.

I like Sam Pilgrim videos. Typically him, his brother on camera, and a friend or two. They do stuff I would never be able to but it never feels like they're cheating death. He seems to be sponsored by Monster. Maybe that's the difference. 🙂

Idk I'd have to disagree on that . Watching the first day of practice with all the top 1% of skilled riders in the world taking all day to only ride a couple features on course I'd say it's pretty extreme . Sure by race day the top 5 or so guys kinda make it look easy but idk how you could watch hardline this year and say it's not extreme
