Halter's Cycles Inspired -- (31/31) 2020 Edition .. RIDE 1hr a day, EVERY DAY for the month of July just for the FUN of it

9/31 was 9 miles at Hotshorne Woods. lol. I had intentions to do a lot more but after going through 2 full bottles in an hour I decided not to push my luck. Tomorrow's rain ride should be a nice change of pace...

You can't tell by the picture but everything I was wearing was completely soaked through with sweat.

Thursday Night Race League at Creek. I was really on the fence about running tonight but figured even if I slow roll into last place I’ll still get series points. Tonight was on a rock trail which should have been my time to shine but I couldn’t shake the thought of how much it would suck to fall on my ribs right now. I probably only gave like 60% effort but I think I was still around the middle of the pack so I’ll take it.

Day 10: in before the rain. After losing the argument for a midnight ride w the Mrs, set the alarm for 4am. Can't remember ever riding that early. After a short road stretch mainly hit the canal again, hopefully I'll hit some trails Su day if it drys upView attachment 133888
So I get up at 4am for work as it is. Last year I remember doing a ride at 3am to get it in before work. This year I'm just gonna get wet...

Curious if anyone is keeping track of who’s done 10 days now. Not that it matters. Just wondering is all.

10/31 I went spinning in the rain on my SS hardtail. Not surprisingly 32x18 is a bit too tall for a road ride but it got the job done. I pedaled around for an hour searching for anything interesting related to Fay. Of course there wasn't much to see other than water.

The above road was closed for flooding but it wasn't flooded. I assume the town engineers calculated the anticipated rise in water from the rain that had fallen and will fall and closed it before cars were overwhelmed. If that's the case I give them props.

While technically not spelled correctly for the current context that was the best I could do without venturing too far from home.

Today was supposed to be an easy stroll but actually became pretty interesting. There are these woods across the lake from our house and I noticed a trailhead when passing by them on the road bike earlier this week. Quick google just showed a gravel walking path to the shore. Cruised over on the single speed, hit the trailhead which does indeed lead to a gravel path, but hot damn if there wasn’t a maze of homegrown moto/mtb trails all up in there complete with rocks, jumps, and log rollers! the gravel path leads to this bridge that goes out to an island...which has more trails on it!
