Halter's Cycles

...the riding/racing advice i get from Ben is priceless he really knows his shit...

Awh Shucks...I'm blushing. Thanks man. I enjoy talking about race experiences. I'm not the fastest guy but I've been putting a number on my bars for a long time. I enjoy helping others get the most out of themselves and their racing.

I donno man... he really wants you to buy that Mary :hmmm:

Last time we were there I saw your right arm twitching going for that wallet...

He didn't pressure though haha. Just made a statement only because I brought it up. I was definitely twitching. lol

Jay nice speaking with and meeting you and Larry and thanks for all your help. I may be back in to look at a Rize 140.

Great shop n good people. Keep it up bro.

Thanks,

Dave

Thanks Dave,

As you could tell we no stock more 29ers than 26ers (by a lot) but we still get out on the 26" bikes from time to time.

The RZ is a darn fun bike. I rode the 120 and the the 140 for over 100 miles offroad last summer in Park City. After testing both at length i much preferred the 120 in the conditions there. I found that I could climb much better on the 120 and found no added benefit descending on the 140. They are both really solid frames that are still made in the USA btw. Once you get some trail time on the Lefty, it is hard to go back.

I am headed back to Park City again in June and I can't wait to get back on those trails.

I agree it's a zero pressure environment.

The knowledge and services sell themselves.

Gonna take my new wheels in for truing once the bike is broken in.

I don't agree... Go in there tell J you ride 3-4 days a week on all local trails... Follow it up with, " I am looking to pick up a 5 inch travel 26 inch wheeled bike!!!"... The pressure you will feel won't be from a storm front moving in on the area😀

I just got back from Halters. I simply could not be happier with the customer service!!!

To say that the customer service "exceeded my expectations" would be an understatement. I truly expected to be without my bike for a week or so. thank's to J I'll be riding this weekend instead of mourning a broken bike.

such great service builds loyalty. fo sho

Chris's bolt collection impressed me on Saturday (again) and a tool from Jdog's secret tool box floored me on Monday. Awesome.

BTW, if you strip a BB30 crank spindle, go here.

Another vote for Jay and the gang,There builds are the best and customer service second to none. Thanks guys.

Dropped the roadbike off for wheel truing. Picked it up two days later and was pleasantly surprised to find the broken FD shifter cable was replaced and the FD adjusted. Thank you!

I meant to do this a few weeks ago but sometimes life gets in the way and you get side tracked. Once again I need to give major props to the entire Halters crew for all of their hard work.

As some of you know, last October I had the guys at Halters build me up a sweet Niner One 9. Well, lets just say that I had some issues with it to keep this short. I don't think I would be lying if I said that the bike was at Halters more than it was in my possession. J worked his stones off trying to get this thing right, countless phone calls, emails and the like with Niner trying to make it all work. I remember telling J jokingly that if the bike gave me an issue at SS a Palooza I was going to ride it to the Niner tent and tell them to keep it. I guess the mud and rain were on the bikes side that day. Me and Chainsaw also kicked around the idea of sawsalling the frame and sending Niner the bb and asking them to fix it. Luckily my wife hid the tools and the booze wore off😀

As a last ditch effort, Mike the mechanic for Team Niner came to work on my bike. He saw a few things that might be a problem, took care of it and told J that I should be good to go. Not so much. At this point I gave up on the bike. J said "lets see what we can do" and after some calls and emails with the guys at Niner, we had a happy outcome.

I would like to thank Chris, Ben(BiknBen), larry, BJ, Tripp, Adam, Alan and whoever else for their patience and understanding. The first 5 of those guys especially as I know that sometime over the last 10 months they all had hands on the bike at some point trying to help me out.

A very big thanks to Jdog, for his all his time and efforts during this to make me happy. Prompt replies to emails and phone calls, calling Niner on the spot when I had an issue, dropping whatever he was doing to help me out, etc. At times as crappy as I felt about the situation he always assured me that things would work out and they did, so a big thank you to you J for all that you did, its greatly appreciated!

To be fair, I gotta also give a big thanks to Brett and Mike from Niner for helping me out and doing their best to make a bad situation right.

For the record in case there is any misunderstanding, my issues were with the frame itself, a frame that has caused problems for many o' people. And for the record, I am still riding a Niner😀

Thanks again to Niner and of course to all the guys at Halters for all your work and support, you guys are the best!

love
walter

I've also neglected to post props for a while.

Couple weeks ago Ben (Biknben) really made the Super Six run like a new bike. Shifts and brakes like new. In the hills of Vermont, not a single issue. And I'm racing the same bike today that I took through 300 miles of really tough conditions with just a wipe down. Chris is awesome as ever, and is a handsome man. All the guys there are rockin'.

I have to say the guys and Suki are great.

J, Chris and Ben, have been really helpful. Had some problems on both my wife’s bike and mine. Not only fixing the issue but giving me a little education on how to not do this again.

J is taking care of an issue with my bars that cracked. You can see how they all love the sport. And be props to Ben really is top notch mechanic and takes the time to talk with you to understand, then give's you an honest answer.😀

I had some warranty issues with a bike that i purchased elsewhere. Halters helped me out and even offered me a loner bike! Halters has become my LBS even though its 45 minutes away.
