Hello from Edgewater

Hi,

I recently moved to Edgewater and have been commuting on my old mtn bike south to Hoboken PATH (I work near Battery Park in NYC).

I was wondering if anyone knows whether you can leave your car the whole day at the Fort Lee park near the GW. If so I'd be able to get a longer ride out of commute.

Another question regarding where to ride. I have a 2 yr old and I'm considering mounting a bike seat for him on my bike. What are easy places to ride with him (parks, etc. not serious trails) in Bergen County or northern NJ at large?

Thanks in advance

Welcome aboard there are quite a few peeps here that commute not I though but if I could I would..

Welcome.

Matty & Soundz would be the goto source for this info, hopefully they'll check in.

Parking in fort lee is not easy. That park was recently signed to residents only. Best option is Overpeck Park in Leonia. If you park there you will need to climb a long hill but it is a solid route. Funny as yesterday was the first time i rode the greenway all the way down to battery. Sweet ride down. Let me know if you want to ride in one day. Welcome!

Thanks.

I've parked there recently, on weekday afternoons for a few hours, without any issues. I guess the best alternative is to simply ride from Edgewater up to GW and down to Battery.

I think Matty is talking about the small park up the street, not the historical park.
But given they did just make that little park residents only, they are probably keeping an eye on overflow to the historical park.

Street parking options open up if you drive north of the bridge to Englewood Cliffs.
