Hello all - I am new to the site, but not new to the sport. I ride 2007 IronHorse Comp MKIII dual. Also ride a 2004 Jamis Eclipse on road. :getsome:

I ride quite a bit (solo unfortunately just because I've not tried to reach out and meet people) on the roads after work around the Chatham, New Providence, Long Hill, Basking Ridge area. Always carry my trusty Magicshine 900Lumen LED headlight - brighter than i really need!🙂

Only once ventured into the Watchung reservation on my Ironhorse before learning it was off limits then once after. It kills me to know there are so many amazing parks around here that are off-limits to ride in! :cry:

Really would love to catch up with and meet some new folks to ride road and trails afterwork - which means night time. I know that poses a problem since the parks are closed but....ya never know. :hmmm:

I love riding in all sorts of weather - that's why god created REI! (which in case no one new is open on route 10 in East Hanover)

I know of some great road courses up here if anyone wants to ride som hills!
 
Howdy kinda neighbor. I imagine you occasionally ride through the swamp?
 
Welcome. I work in Millburn. I rode a HGC loop through Milburn/Chatham/Summit area once or twice after work (when it was light out). That's about all I have. I dont know why I'm even posting this.
 
I ride around the swamp - used to ride through it before i got over the 20 something mile mark in total distance.

I feel like i am always riding up hill when i ride around here.
 
Norm - I was just checking out some of your courses on Garmin Connect. I might be-friend you somehow so that I can always access your courses. Great way to figure out where to go!

Welcome to mtbnj, i live in cranford but make my way west for some good road rides.
when you look at norms garmin connect take a look at his mph avg. & heart rate...he is not human, at least thats what i tell myself. 😀

That's awesome - i was thinking more for leads on where to go - not necessarily participate in his "death march" !
 
Where do you start normally? Your location is JC, which leads me to believe you're actually from Jersey City or the messiah incarnate. Either way I'm not sure how to play that kind of request.
 
By - be-friend, i meant that in a "add you as a contact" sort of way.

I am from JC, but obviously never ride there - since there is no where to ride.

For mountain biking, I've ridden up in bear mountain, ramapo, up skyline drive, and ringwood. I've not ventured out west where i now work.

I've done all my road biking around the summit, chatham, basking ridge, long valley, watchung area. I usually start in new providence near the train line (where my office is).

I work in the area. There are some group ride around the swamp. check out highgear bike shop in sterling they have some group road rides.

The nearest park for MTB is probably lewis morris.
