Does more trail maintenance than you, without a he
Im 28 yrs old been riding all my life,raced bmx,still ride bmx street/park/dirt jump.I wear a helmet mtbing and always have,esp at any state or county park.I however like many bmxers do not wear one while riding my 20",yes i have had concussions/stiches head injury's throughout the years with and without helmets on.Also got hit by a car twice,but even grinding hand rails and chucking myself off dirt jumps i choose not too bmxing unless its mandotory at the skatepark.Recently got into road biking and unless im on a charity ride im not gonna wear a helmet.Reason im ranting is because tonight while passing what looked like your typical road biker he goes hey asshole if your gonna go that fast wear a helmet.i slow down tell him nicely its my business and my body.He then says its young punks like me giving bikers bad names. I then tell him listen most states dont require motorcycles to wear helmets,i told him i dont tell people when to wear a condom and rode off.imo if a cars gonna hit me ill take my chances and in most cases a lil foam helmet will do shit.i hope that roadbiker that was a jerk is on here,i also think its hilarious how so many road bikers go so slow with there full carbon rides and yes i dont wear all kinds of flashy gear and have a plastic bike yet but i know its a lil safer when i can avg a good speed so cars have more time to see me.Many road bikers remind me off the 13 yr olds at skateparks with there bikes that are triple the value of what they need and just have there stuff to brag.this been on my mind and btw every mtber ive met on the trail has mostly been really cool people,its the roadies that seem like d bags

dude im on a cracked iphone ,i dont give 2 shits. im just ranting half in the bag at 11 oclock at night, didnt know i was writing a article for the local paper,look at this run on sentence,your probably the asshole when im helping with trail maintence that rides threw runs over my foot without saying thanks,
 
If you get hurt without a helmet they might close the road you were on.🙄

Seriously, road riding is different than mtb. You DO have a right to be on the road and there are no laws requiring helmets, so ride at your own risk.

Also the guy who said punks like him give roadies a bad name. I hope he wasn't referring to no helmet. I don't think people in cars are going to care who is wearing a helmet when a pack of riders is running 2+ wide.
 
hell yea drunk on sunday night ,rode too much saturday to drink past out after a 62 mile road ride,and have a late start monday mornings for work.some may think im an asshole .whatever.put more hours on working on trails then most here and people that know me can agree,and who gives a fuck how i spell.i never went to college,i weld shit , i can talk fine u get the point,some of u are probably the d bags that talk shit in parking lots of my protect helmet and basketball shorts and then im passing u 5 min in the trail..lol,point out all the mistakes in this,i type how i text (on a phone)

hey Al - it's your skull. personally, I feel naked without my helmet.

but I can understand why it would piss you off that someone would tell you to wear a helmet. especially on the road. if you want to unnecessarily expose yourself to brain injury or death....that's your choice. [not sarcastic] if I chose not to wear a helmet on the road and some guy passed me saying "wear a helmet" I'd probably tell the guy to go f' himself.

in the trails, however, there is a bigger effort to get people to wear helmets since there is a fear [whether legit or not] that trails could be closed off if mtbers get hurt or killed on it (whereas there is no fear that roads would be closed to bikers if the same happened).

so, youre simply not gonna get a sympathic crowd here when it comes to NOT wearing a helmet. that's why your OP is getting crickets,
