Icebox Eleven

You are like a gold mine my friend. Gift that just keeps on giving.

It was actually you who inspired me while pullin thru the headwind. I usually won't do work unless i'm assured success. I knew the odds were not in my favor and that i'd have to take it way past "7" where i usually ride. But hey. everyone around me is gettin faster and i don't want my rides to get to slow for all you rockstars who have no idea how to find your way thru the woods so its time to start pushin a lil. I love how you blow me off,its sooooooooo cute😀 I was thinkin its time for you to embrace your new level of self and get the head shaved. Whatchya think?? Razor, superbuzz, faux high n tight?? Its the last bastion of your former self. Maybe I'll start a poll:hmmm:

It's a wasted effort, the wife won't let me shave my head.

I never blow you off. You never invite me anywhere so I have no chance to blow you off. Didn't we ride together in the not too distant past? I mean, like a week before I went to Taiwan?

Your boy did well yesterday but you gotta work on the confidence thing. He doesn't think he belongs, which is wrong.

It's more a cerebral blow off. I don't know if he's really that stupid that he doesn't see how good he can be or if he starts to feel the burn and begins to obsess that his equipment isn't up to par. I do verbally abuse him so maybe its my fault. I'm gonna get his take on how it compared to Sussex(clustrephak) and maybe take a dip myself. I'll NEVER be "the guy" but nobody can explode, confuse and generally piss off a group like me and my Tarmac. Anybody lookin for a clinically insane cat5 super domestique??? BTW,if your readin this you're a worthless POS Chris:argue:

aww thats sweet, I have a problem with comparing myself with the best guy out there and determining my percieved value on my performance, its something I need to work on. I did really good yesterday for me, last year I couldnt even hold on to the pack for a couple laps. I'm way ahead of where I was . That shit was fun yesterday, especially with all of us out there. Should be a great year

So you actually feel as though you did well against guys with 4x the bike, who sat on rollers all winter wieghing out raw tuna and dandelion grass for meals while obseesing over power tap stats?? All you did was ski and have a helluva time gettin the tar beat outta ya. No one in that field could take the beating of the climbs i take you up on skis...NO ONE!! So quit second guessin and just get out there and do whatcha do son:getsome:

So it seems i get a call for someone everyday to do a road ride. I;ve been out every day except a couple of the rain storms. It's still winter and this is now a roadie thread😕 The increased verbal abuse seemed to do the trick and the 26r took his rightful place in the "hood" on Sat, so i rewarded him with a post race beatdown today. I had to burn about 750 of the little motel matches in my box of 1000 to keep him at bay but at least he knows that there was still more in his legs now for the next crit he attends. In other news , I may do the Battenkill preride and am in for the HOH. Both are weather dependent since I'm a diva.So we got a couple weeks of road/cross then it's all over in here and back to the MTBs to do work for the Bearscat:getsome:

Lies all lies I'm calling you out and you failed...what happened to I can't ride at dinner time shit. I went early and hit real hillz WINNER!...

We still love ya, you cant just come out of hibernation and get the band back together that quick. Looks like we hit alot of the same stuff today but we went all the way out to Belvidere and looped back. My fault on the late start, trying to keep wifey happy but its futile. Any good(cheap) divorce lawyers?

My boys goin pro! Have to bend the rules a lil if i want to be personal trainer of the year😀

I SWORE I wouldn't answer the phone today, but i did. Another freakin road ride!! This is my third day on zero float cleats and don't know why they even sell anything else at this point. They FRICKEN ROCK:getsome: Any input from an experienced roadie would be great on this. Am i in the minority here or has no one bothered to tell me that everyones zeroed?? Either way I'm stoked to be locked in and puttin horsies to the ground now😀

My own personal HOH

This was THE worst day I've ever had on a roadbike. I was so worried about the dirt and it turned out to be the best parts of the day. We go off and in like 2 miles we,ve already gone right thru the group that left in front of us and all I've got is Kev and Capers by me with the 26r outta sight somewhere in front of me. Kev whizzes by on some dirt and says there's a climb coming(YES!!) I then learn that you cant crank over 15th gear on gravel:cry: If i gotta sit and spin I'm dead!! He checks up at a stop sign and i see a group up ahead so i pin it. I spend the next near damn hour jumpin from group to group and the train behind me is now like 30 riders long. WTF IS CHRIS?? I finally blow a turn and the whole bunch stops and i have the only cue sheets. Off w the gloves, pull out the sheets, check the street signs......oh , missed a left. They bolt and I'm still sitin there gettin redressed. Fn roadies......few miles later out pops Chris. Hes like Dustins out in front of us somewhere. Huh?? I've been top gear in the drops all this time and they're in front of me?? Whatev........kept it goin and get in a few mile section where i waste a metric sh#t ton of energy goin back and forth with this dude that i just can't snap. Later find out it's Northern Ivy. Most TENACIOUS dude out there times 10. I now get swamped by a group of 30ish that are all kitted out with Cervelos galore. Where'd they come from?? Next DH i pass the semi hot chick on the cruiser bike i saw at the start. HTF is she in front of me?? Hit the climb and theres Dustin. Get to the food stop and Kev and his band of merry men are all there already. I then realize that the whole world is out here just ridin around and i've been off course ALOT. I'm spent and done. Few miles outta the food i almost die at a T. Came in pinned not knowing there was a stop sign. Jimmis there w a dropped chain and we keep on keepin on. I have sporadic contact w Dustin who's jolly demeanor is helping me keep moving. Hit the first decent pavement of the day on 519 and feel much better. Lil later find a perfect pee spot on a sunny lane and as i'm remounting the VTC rolls by. HTF am i in front of them???????? Collect the merry men again at the food stop. Go out w Dustin and then he bolts on a caffiene high. Find Jimmi boy again and then hit another sweet section of pavement and pin it to town. Hit the van and Chris rolls in BEHIND me?? Change, McDonalds,HOME. I'm soo over this. I can only assume there were 100s of poachers out there and a ton of peeps rerouting the GPS routes to get them around the dirt. We all musta done 90 miles. I have no idea where i was but part of it was the HOH and somehow i finished😀

nice to meet you man, somehow it did not register until the rest stop who you were even though I introduced myself at the start. How the hell could I forget your beard is beyond me.

I was talking to Ben about a Brevet I am doing on Sunday and he mentioned that orientation is a big part of the game... I tweeked the cue sheet so that it is waterproof and works as a scroll of sorts... It will be scrolling off my stem for easy reading while I am moving... GPS technology is awesome and there is no denying it now or in the future but conventional customs make it more of adventure

Dude you are fun to ride with. I got all doped up at the last stop and had to go as far and as fast as I could. Best part of the day is how Kevin, Larry, capers, Soundz, ivy, fartin Martin, myself and you basically stayed together for the last 50 miles... we were either all on pace or it was small packs of 2-3 of us. Good times. 100% in for next year

That was really funny when Dustin passed me after the last stop. He's like "I'm all doped up" and he's pedaling at like 100rpm in a upright hybrid-bike-like position. It reminded me of road runner cartoon for some reason. I was surprised too because I felt stronger than him prior to the last rest stop. I'm sure he ate the whole box of GU.

Just 1 gu. I was gonna make it or die hard trying. I loled hard at your post btw. You described me perfectly... I couldn't hold the hoods anymore
