Is strava going from suck to blow?

What kind of TSS are we tracking here

Tracking TIME @ 170degF baby. FYI Intervals.ICU says it's a load of "5".

More importantly, I wish there was a better way to track the gym workout beforehand for TSS outside of writing the entire workout in Garmin Connect and marking weights/reps on my watch for each set..

Funny IG post.

have no interest in posting it on Strava but I would be curious to see how the Sauna impacts HR.
You could leave the Garmin outside the sauna but wear the strap in and record. Should still pick up the strap signal.

I’m not sure a sauna would damage a Garmin though

Genuine question.
How are you tracking sauna time? I was under the impression that taking a Garmin watch into a sauna can damage the watch.

From what I read, no issue with the temperatures. Specifically because it's on your wrist too not just in the ambient 170degF air.

Only reason I'm "tracking" it is I'm tracking the time while I'm in there by starting the activity to give me a timer. Oddly people who seem to spend their day on Strava looking at other people's activities seem to put a lot of mental capacity into this. I'm usually in there with a friend or two and am constantly asked "HOW LONG HAVE WE BEEN IN HERE???" and having the timer helps.

I did actually save it the first few times to see how it affected HR because I was curious, but the answer is, not much. Yeah it creeps up but not by much. I guess I can check to see how Sauna/Cold Plunge/Sauna affects HR.

Phone will 100% go into high-heat mode if you go into the Sauna with it. I leave mine outside with Bluetooth earbuds if I'm alone.

So you are tracking it to help your friend track their time?

Does your phone not have a “clock” app with a “timer” functionality?

See above. While yes I can bring my phone in, I leave it outside as it's 170 degrees in there. It's two pushes of a button to start an activity. I just then hit the same button twice and it pauses and saves. But this situation can continue to live rent free in your mind if you like.

And full disclosure, I can look at the time and say "Oh, I'm going in at X" time, and then when I look back at the time, have no recollection of what the time is when I walked in.

I'm sorry to hear this, human resources have no business tracking how much time you spend in the sauna, I'm assuming while you're working from home...i feel a big lawsuit and fat settlement coming your way...

Do you use Strava as an egg timer?

are we talking 3 minute efforts or longer?
ramp up or go in hot? Cool down is individual preference.
mass start?
Open Division is hard.

Couple of events i've seen:
Deviled Dozen
Lumpy Bumpy Scramble
Go Easy Over Candy Ass
Broken Yolk 25r - (Black Bear sponsored)
Sous Vide Endurance 150F - any shorter and it is a running event.

I feel like we all did that once and then you move on, gps rite of passage.

People posting every activity, 15 min walks, 5 min abs, 10 min of walking to a tm location, just waters everything down in your strava feed.
Guilty of the dog walks but it’s also how I track my walking miles. But only one mow the lawn per season. 🤪

Dog walking, disc golf, kayaking, pickle ball, golf, walking, 5 minute chess, watching porn hub are 9 of the TOPP TENN.
