Also there are a lot of really nice roads just outside of town if you're into road riding as well. Plenty of people here can show you some good loops.

could you kindly point me to some routes?
I haven't found one I'm too crazy about

I work in Peapack and the riding there is so much better than Warren

What I have in my garage:

2014 Specialized Crave Pro
2003 Look KG361
1985 Peugeot

I'd like to race the H2H series this year, start in Cat 3 and if I'm able move to Cat 2.
Just picked up the Look so I have not done much road riding but it's something that I'm trying to get started in.

Glad there are so many people in my area. I will let everyone know when I'm ready to ride!

Apologies for the hijack, we probably should move this discussion to tour nj.

i like the quadrant south and west of 287 and 78 for reduced traffic (it is also where i live) - there is a choke point in whitehouse, but heading west from warren, and getting to lamington rd (the one towards white house), then towards round valley has some really nice riding - smooth roads, with good climbing, not terribly steep, or long, just good. avoid 523 south of whitehouse, there are choices - dreahook, kosciusko, pulaski

yep, apologies as well
the B ride was what I was looking for
wasn't sure of the best route through Bernardsville and around to Chatham, then back home

thanks again, good stuff

You want something like this I think:

You can go left on Pleasantville before you enter the swamp if you want to go long way around. All of those roads are generally good to ride on. I'm guessing where you live based on the last time we had the conversation that we are virtual neighbors.

Fidodie is on it, but essentially I head out that direction anyway (Peapack) or towards the stuff he already mentioned.

Some other good resources:
njbikemap.com , I find the central regional map most useful (always great, just need to have a PDF and your favorite route generator open side by side, having 2 screens helps!)
My unimpressive heat map which shows how I tend to get in and out of the area
A much more impressive heat map
