Hi all,

My name is George and back in November I moved to Hoboken, NJ from Bethlehem, PA and i'm glad to have found a local forum similar to what i'm used to. I was a member of the IMBA and JORBA-affiliated club The Valley Mountain Bikers. I was also a member of the Vertical Earth Gravity Park Trail Crew at Blue Mountain in PA this past season. I'm 26 years old and have been mountain biking for 14 years. I ride XC, DH, and DJ and i'm excited to find new spots to ride in my new state. I know Hoboken isn't the ideal place for a mountain biker but i'm hoping i can find some trails that arent terribly far away. I work down in Carteret so there are probably some places closer to there for me and once spring hits, i wanna try to ride after work whenever possible. Hopefully i'll be able to find some tour guides on this site bc i'm clueless about NJ as a whole.

Check out the Trail Directory on this site and look up Wawayanda, Ringwood, Jungle Habitat, Ramapo for starters, although in reality, where you are, access to Sprain Ridge, Graham Hills, or even Blue Mtn. might be easier.

Are you facing culture shock moving from Pennsyltucky?
 
There's a little bit of culture shock but i did grow up on Long Island so it's not that bad. I will miss riding from my house to 2 awesome trail systems though.

Welcome George. Carteret is not bad of a town and with its location, you are probably about 40 min to Chimney Rock probably around 45min to 6-mile, 40 min to Ringwood and so on.
