ETA: i also complained to strava about the name. i'm fine with some 13-year-old-boy humor (i lean towards poop and fart jokes myself), but gang bang was uncalled for.

This thread doesn't make sense. The crap 10 year olds see on pg13 tv these days doesn't bother parents but a bad word on strava does?
Let me help you make sense of this.
Leave it the fuck alone Dave. You may not care about offensive Strava names but some people do. Respect that and move on, its how people get along with each other. To keep questioning why others are offended just gets stupid after awhile. This is not a battle worth fighting.

at my age, it has been an effort to overcome the racism that was so prevalent in my childhood.
the words that were used to describe anyone that wasn't straight white-anglo were/are horrible.
i was lucky enough to work in a place that embraced cultural diversity, and leveraged it
(people from different parts of the world come at problems from different bases, hence synergy.)
i can't use the words of hatred. I won't.
where there is context, there can be a lot of latitude in what is said.
yeah, i'm the pc police sometime. i really don't like personal attacks on peoples' opinions or stories. counter the opinion,
while respecting the person. otherwise forfeit your respect. but i really dgaf if it isn't personal - i may not find it funny,
but that is usually because it is adolescent.
i gotta get a good fart joke for the next time i see @MissJR......are boob and skinny jokes in play? body image is on the pc radar, so i'm never sure.

not sure why i want to pour so much time into this thread. my writing style sucks - i'm having a hard time
qualifying what i want to say, so it is even more f'd up.
probably because i don't want to see hate words in a public place. weird situations happen - such as creating radical islamic militants
out of kids who just happen to be getting bad grades in school, and can't get laid, then feel guilty (because of religion) about JO.
