Notes from a Millennial

ok, now i'm curious. Did Dad ever warm up to wifey, or was he always salty? Also, did your wife hold a grudge back?
No grudges here, everybody got along fine, it took a few years, but all was good. I will say after a few months of being married and not contacting my parents, one day we decided to stop and visit them. The house was empty and they had moved away. I found them anyway after contacting my sister.

was choosing your christian religion at this time like choosing your wireless carrier today?
I'm not strictly religious and also the worst half of mixed religion/nationality marriage (I am Italian and catholic , my wife if British from a non religious family, and even though she claims to be a Christian she was never baptised) but I'm pretty sure that even back then it would have been a little bit more involved than just moving in the proximity of a church of some denomination to became a member of a specific religion.

We got married twice. First one at Kirkpatrick chapel in New Brunswick 34 years ago - pastor presided (wife Catholic, me Presbyterian at the time). Reception (150 people) at Wood Lawn Mansion (all Rutgers wedding). Second wedding was 16 years later when our son was doing his first communion and I converted to Catholic - small ceremony in Millstone.

But what will you do with the pelicans?

My wife and I got married few years ago. Thankfully my mom worked for a catering and we didn’t pay for anything (not even our parents) It was pretty much on the house. It was more of a ‘thank you’ to my mom for her hard work over the years. Win-win for us $$.

Get a Milwaukee packout or Ridgid toolbox and kaizen foam it.

I can do probably 90% of my repairs in this box alone:

There's like 1,000 different ways of going about it but working out of a loose box like you linked will be absolutely miserable.

The thing is I like layers that's why I posted that one tool box, bike tools(really almost all tools) are pretty flat. So having a thick case is a waste.

I'd love something like a cabinet makers tool chest but much smaller would be neat. So I don't have to worry about drawers opening in the car.

Many congrats @cassinonorth !!!

p.s. looks like you need a manicure ;P

USER=153]@Norm[/USER] it was well received so there is obviously a need

hmmm.... i guess i've been busy not checking in on MTBNJ as much as i should be because i totally missed my temporary name change and the societal menu change to include rick as an appetizer.

Quick life update. Got married at borough hall 2/22/2022 as planned. Wearing a ring for the first time ever is still very strange a week later. Got a sweet titanium band that's super light though. Ceremony was very nice, we had our town's mayor perform it as we know him from when I ran for council in 2020. Grabbed dinner at a local steakhouse to celebrate with our parents. We'll have a normal wedding sometime in 2023....probably...

Then I immediately went to Canada to escape the marriage.

Drive up took only 5 hours to get to the border and another 40 to Montreal to pick up our friends flying in.

The French Canadians always keeping it classy. Thought I'd be cheeky and sneak in an hour of riding when we got there at 2:30 with my Ikon pass only to find the most horrific sheet of ice that could be called a ski area on day 1. Ate shit harder than I have in years immediately. Day 2 was freezing but at least it wasn't completely ice, just 75%.

And it was quite bluebird so not the worst day. Day 3 we got 3" or so during the morning we rode. Goggles were having fits and the crowds were heavy but snow was the best it was. Trade offs I guess. Also picked up some beignets for the trip to Montreal

Stupidly good stuff. We stayed on Saint Laurent which was a pretty cool neighborhood. Being a non-drinker the bars seemed decent enough. Saturday we got some poutine and wandered around Montreal between doing bachelor party things (not my bachelor party). Followed by more bachelor party things. I'll let your mind fill in the blanks here...though Quebec's gentleman clubs and casinos were closed...

And left Sunday morning for Killington who had gotten 9" Friday and another 3" while we were riding in the afternoon. Pretty good trip all things considered. Had to leave early Monday morning for a job interview which was unfortunate but a trade off I'm more than willing to make
Congrats! Now just never relax and always say yes, you’ll be fine!
