I found an Air9 rear hanger while cleaning out my car in traffic today. Does anyone ride one of those things?
Why dafuq didn't you give it to me when i saw you yesterday????? You know i ride an Air9 and bend hangers constantly!
Inspired by some "pay it forward" help I just got, I have some things to offer up to the MTBNJ crowd.
Flew in on a business trip from Buffalo last night into Philly (if that all wasn't bad enough), only to discover my truck had a dead battery. This really sucks in an airport parking deck when it's 40 degrees and you are in a suit and tie....sucks even more when the cubby in the back of the truck doesn't open without power so that you can get your jumper cables out....but after a while I managed to crawl into the back and find the secret lever to get the tailgate open and into the cubby for the cables. then, no one for miles around, for at least 15 mins....
so I am standing there with jumper cables in the parking deck feeling sorry for myself. I am looking at my truck and realize I can't get jumped because I am parked head in, next to a concrete wall and surrounded by other cars....so, not only do I need to now find someone that doesn't think I am some crazy person to help not only jump start my car, but push it out of it's spot to do so...
when all of the sudden this dude appears, looking for his car, which he can't seem to find, and I see him pushing his key fob and looking for his car as he approaches crazy old me...he has one eye on me looking suspicous and one eye darting around looking for his car, when low and behold, the car next to mine lights up and it's his!
I am so ecstatic about this, that I blurt out "I could freaking hug you, man", probably making me seem even creepier....luckily he was a nice dude and said "whats the matter, what do you need?" and he helped jump me and off he went, long before I could properly thank him...
last thing I said as he drove away was "I'll remember this and pay it forward" and he gave me a thumbs up on that....next thing I thought of was this thread.
So, if you hung around long enough for my story, I got two things I am willing to give up for free. Both are available along with a tour of my home park, Mercer County. There are only about 4 ppl on the planet that know that place better than me and I promise it's not too muddy, not too rooty and not too flat if you do it right 😉
If ya meet me at MCP, there will be no charge and I am available to ride any day between now and new years.
Items up for grabs:
1 Thule 2 bike hitch rack for 2" recievers only, it's the 2011 parkway version I think, and has one broken rubber strap which can be replaced and I will throw in the plastic stablizers I have (2). If you need a frame adapter for your bike, we might be able to work that out too.
and
Two 29er tires, used, one Geax AKA (perhaps 50% worn) and a WTB Wolverine that is in pretty good shape. the AKA was setup tubless and has never flatted and the WTB was from my old hardtail and was run with tubes and also never flatted.
I need the space and won't use these again so post up quick to claim them.
Again, no deliveries, will meet ya at MCP.....

Can I call dibs on the jacket Dave?
good story - i'll meet ya at mcp for the tires, if you are willing to make them a donation to trips for kids!!!
