This was on my drive home Friday from work, must have happened 2 minutes before I rolled by.

Elsa and Utah need to get a room. Aaron cooked burgers for us and we had as good of a time as we always do North of 80 with the Canada crew. I needed this after being a bum around the house all week.

Our impatient cat peeking out the window. She loves this time of the year. She gets amped up seeing the birds. I think she would jump through the screen if she could.

My hip didn't hurt as bad as it did the last couple of days. Add that with the stir craziness I've been feeling I had to get out. Just rolled around on the canal path and got breakfast. Felt good. The hip hurt but not as bad as my hand did. I can't put any pressure on it. Glad I didn't really have to use the brakes; Peep the file:

This will be good enough for now. The hip stings but I can pedal through it. It also felt better after I rode, so maybe I need to do this more often. It has to get better eventually... Right?

:hmmm: Yes, we are still planning to visit Charlotte at the end of the month, but we keep thinking of the possibilities of making it work here.

Charlotte has a pretty big riding scene both road and mountain and you're only a few hours from Asehville, which is awesome. On the other hand, your MTBNJ kit won't carry the same cache it does here. So ... those are obviously the only considerations you really have to work through. Good luck. 😀

my cat used to lose it when she would peer out windows at birds. she would start meowing like it was uncontrollable. can cats have turrets syndrome?

+1

our cats broke our blinds...they chewed the strings and the actual blinds snapped from them trying to peer out. jerks.

Whoa, I missed a day. sorry about that. I actually was semi busy the last 48 hours.

Monday was the second time I've ridden since hitting the deck. Each day gets better and better. It is simply amazing how the human body works. Not so much bones and stuff like that, but more along the lines of how skin just fills its wounds by itself. It's been a week and everything is pretty much healed. Still sore and I have pain in certain spots, but shit, body did me good.

I decided to take my fixed gear out and spin around Colonial Park with Mandi. The gear on this thing is too hard, and the seat is too high, but I enjoyed it.

I was full utilitarian and just had a helmet on, the only way to roll on this bike with flat pedals. I really want to dial this bike in with a gear and a fit, I think it will be a fun bike to roll around on with real pedals and gear on.

We then headed over to Bill and Lisas for dinner at the new spot. So close, I feel like I will be bothering them much more as the summer goes on. It last second decision and we had a great night as we always do spending time with them. Conversation flows and we soon realize it is super late. Molly was not happy we were out so late.

Tuesday was a big day. Work was extremely busy and I actually hammered out tons of crap at work. Some progress was made with me trying to stay in NJ forever. I went to Halters to talk to Jay about it, then picked up my mountain bike and figured what the heck, lets gear up and let it rip. The sun is still out.

Grab my goods and park at the canal lot. Looking back at it, I probably could have ridden to and from, but I didn't want to be out that late.

Six mile is always deceiving, You always feel like a rockstar and super fresh, but this time, I think it was legit. No pain that wasn't bearable in my hands/hip. Everything just seemed to be easy. The stretch of me not riding really did me well me thinks. Blessing in disguise? Did I just forget how to ride my mountain bike?

I texted Bill and told him I'm going to Five Guys which is down the street from him. He told me he was throwing burgers on the grill and told me to swing by. I picked up cheese with him. They had candles on their table, not sure if it was for a quiet dinner alone or for me, but I will take that in to the fact that I brought some bad ass cheese. I had to dine and dash but it was good to chat with them, again. I had Jesus homework to do. Ugh.

Sorry no pictures again, I leave you with this:

that pre-marriage wedding quiz stuff sucks. we knocked our "classes" out in one marathon day. it felt like camp in a way, just with a weird getting married/you're at church vibe.

what's the gearing on the fixie? i peeled through colonial last night on my ride. i love that park. i wish it was 10x longer. i went in from elizabeth and found i ran out of gear to push any faster then i was going. i was at the point of bouncing in my saddle which gets annoying.

We had to do it over two days and it was kind of like a long episode of Family Guy: weird but funny. My wife gave me a list of things I wasn't allowed to do beforehand. One was "speak". Another was "reference science". One couple who were there to talk about communication started bickering over housework and who would get to work the laptop for their powerpoint slides. At one point they just started arguing angrily over how fast the guy was advancing the slides and it was getting pretty heated and people were clearly feeling uncomfortable. So I asked "Do we need to know this for the test?" (Free advice: making jokes in Jesus Marriage Class is not appreciated.)

Did anyone find these classes to be helpful?

Being serious here, I'm wondering if anyone looks back at those classes and thinks "These really help us resolve our issues" or "I'm glad Jesus is OK with butt sex" or whatnot.

What the heck kinda classes did you attend?!?

Yes, I found ours re-affirmed that we are on the same page not just spiritually, but also in the non-spirutual aspects many of these programs walk you through, such as financial planning, family planning, and career goals. With that said, we participated in a program that we believed in through our Church. I can't really see them adding the full intended value if couples just go through the motions or are just doing it so an officiant will let them get married. At a minimum, I would hope the experience helps couples get their "deal-breakers" sorted out before getting hitched.

Elope. No Jesus homework.

Yeah. F that C shit... Jamie and I don't go to church so we aren't getting married in a church. A friend of ours is a Officiant And he is going to marring us. It's going to save us a bunch of $.

Now that I think of it I don't even know where my local religion hole is
