Peezy's Black Magic 2013

You should move to Asheville and start an MTBNJ South chapter at the foot of Pisgah Mountain. Just grab a bunch of sticks out of the woods and build a makeshift clubhouse/hotel for use only by those with a user id on this site.

Seriously, house hunting sucks - you guys have my sympathies. Every aspect of it sucks. I imagine it sucks even more today now that they aren't giving $800K pre-approvals to anyone with a face. Not that it was good to have that then (I laughed at the guy when he said "Good news!" and then told us we could get a house for about $500K more than what I had budgeted.) But I imagine dealing with current homeowners nowadays can be a real hassle since many of them probably bought at a price higher than they'll be able to sell. Good luck!

If going to NC is a plan, stay stay stay away from the Triad area, high point, winston-Salem and Greensboro. My inlaws moved there and were back in 7 years. No jobs, housing is cheap but everything else costs the same. Plus the sidewalks roll up when the sun goes down.

This is the truth. We closed on a house in August. The sellers took a $30k hit on it and didn't want to fix jack shit, it wasn't a fun negotiation. In fact the AC broke in the middle of the heat wave (like a month before we closed) and they wanted us to split the cost of the repair with them 🙄

At least you all have a wealth of information here since there are so many people who have recently bought. Good luck! And you're doing it right, go look at the house you want like 38 times before putting in an offer. And go at a bunch of different times. As it turns out, on Friday nights we can hear the high school football announcer like there's a speaker in our back yard. That's pure fun!

I tried the elevator trick today.
I think it worked.
But then again, I have no way of knowing if anyone on the other floors had pressed the button... Hmm... :hmmm:

This used to work at one of the state agencies I work at. They put new elevators in and it doesn't work anymore.

Saturday Our office sponsors a charity ride every year. Ever year I wasn't able to make it. This time I was. Mandi was suppose to come, but still has a nasty cough and wasn't up for it. I rolled out solo, afraid of what i would find. There was maybe 20-25 people doing the 63 mile one. I was worried this would turn into a sufferfest; for my brain. I didn't want to be alone for that long. Thankfully, the skies parted and I see one of the greatest things I would see all day;

Madness and his crew.

I run up to him and say "I'm so happy to see you". I could have hugged him.

Eventually, the 4 of us head out and ride at a nice social pace. The last time I was on a bicycle for more than 2 hours was at the Stoopid 50. Smashed some ice cream and oatmeal cookies before I headed home.

The rest of the day was spent eagerly checking our phones on the offer/counteroffer we placed on our house. We received a screenshot from Lance that they accepted and we are onto the next phase. WOOOO. Pricing out all the crap we will have to do before we move in is scary, but it will be nice to move into a place that will feel brand new. Time, time time. We celebrated by using a gift card we got from Christmas last year from Mandis grandparents to Outback. Mmmmm, beef.
