Possibly relocating. Looking for opinions.

It just seems like a terrible time to do anything with a house except sell it.
If it’s already sold, I’d wait and rent. If you have the flexibility, go rent someone for 6 months and see if you would want to live there. Kids and schools obviously need to be priority and accounted for.

it seems like the overpaying thing eases up the farther West you go. Do you know Pat (@SmooveP)? Also, Bratteson moved out to PA recently after selling his place in Rumson. He might have some intel.

it's about the same distance to my Pa house.
Can you live in the PA house? Relocate job?

Or

Can you sell PA house and put profits toward where you want to live.

I'm not sure why you didn't take a home equity loan and put an addition on your house.

No person chimed in with "why would you leave? NJ is the best place in the world. We have the shore, the bagels, the pizza and Taylor ham, egg and cheese, you can't get those elsewhere. And the people around you aren't assholes, they are just tough and will always be there for you."?

I thought that was a common standard response.

Agree with this 100%.

Accepting an offer from Blackrock vs bidding against Blackrock.
Absolutely. If you want to see a messed up world the pensions are buying entry level real estate above asking and reaping rental and appreciation income because bonds suck. This shouldn't be legal. And if the rich white man was ever going to get richer, heck cash out some of that sp500 that grew 200% since last march and buy some houses cash.

I won't sell the Pa home. Will never have the opportunity to own a beautiful house on 45 acres in "god's country" again. Wife loves it there but won't live there. Not going to make our house the most expensive in the neighborhood. Got some good news today. Inlaws surprised us and said they will pay difference to get a home with an "inlay suite". Game changer....and I get along great with my inlays.

The only thing you said right was Taylor Ham. New Yorkers are assholes.

I think we all have a very love/hate relationship with this state. It's not perfect, but it's pretty cool.
