Sleep?!?! How do you do it?

A key for me is not thinking “word thoughts” when it’s time to sleep.

I often put myself to sleep visualizing a ride on familiar trails. I “ride” into Allaire/Hartshorne/Huber/Chimney Rock and visualize a loop I usually ride.

Better than counting sheep.
The concept here is "thought replacement" and the idea is to replace the wandering, stressful thoughts of uncertainty with something you are well familiar with and has a strict and well defined script that you can calmly follow along to avoid exciting the mind. For me its the zen working on a bike or reciting something i'm studying that sure to bore me to sleep. 🤣

As someone employed by a private company, there is probably some level that I might be able to get an lawyer and go to court with.....However, I have never found any noticeable or positive results from weed or CBD in my life, so its not really an issue for me. But our conduct policy is pretty clear, if they test you and it shows up, you're fucked. That said, I would be MIND blown if they ever tested anyone in my company.

It's an idiotic policy. Do they treat alcohol the same way? Alcohol metabolites are detectable in urine for days, just like THC.

Similar for me, working as a engineering consultant for the pharma industry. Some clients test more than others. We have terminated guys for a failed test. Especially since they had been told what client they were being hired for and that they WILL be tested. My current client doesn't test that I know of. Might be partly because they are European based and maybe partly because we are 12 miles from MA where it's been legal for years and where a large number of employees reside. Alcohol is tested as well, although in that case I believe there is an allowed amount.

But since I never know if or when I might get assigned to a project for a client that tests...

As far as the sleep thing... I've tried all sorts of things... no drinking (helps some, but not always), no phone (same), reading (helps some), listening to audio books (actually helps quite a bit). I definitely need fairly heavy covers although a weighted blanket is too much.

9 out 10 kids on Christmas eve were told
Can't think of a worse night of anticipation
Only to be disappointed, it's such a cruel cycle we humans preform and why we can't sleep today 🤣

So again, what is the exact policy? None detected? That defies credibility.

your wrong it is 0. and every single time another state 'legalizes' it we get reminded of it.

also not allowed to own stock in any businesses related to it.

Nope:

"The DoD cut-off for THC is 15 ng/mL. That number is an administrative number created by the DoD. Tests come back for 14 ng/mL still indicate marijauna use, but the DoD has chosen not to report them out as positive samples."

https://korodylaw.com/positive-mili... DoD cut-off for, them out as positive samples.

@rick81721 better question....what is your point in derailing this thread? Are you recommending weed for better sleep?

You're asking me about derailing a thread? Especially a DT thread?? 🤣

PS works for me. I slept like a baby last night even after my beloved eagles got crushed by the forty whiners!

Weed can lead to a spiral of negative thoughts and kills motivation for the next day leading to another spiral. By now everyone should already know if it compliments their lifestyle. If you are the kind of person that is satisfied doing nothing then i think weed compliments that lifestyle. If you are fast fast think ahead analyze maybe not.

Where'd you hear that nonsense - from Reefer Madness propaganda films? Alcohol is far more likely to cause the effects you describe.

lawyers and enlisted policy.

for those in high liability environments with clearances they wouldn't even mention, the policy can be/is zero.

i think teenagers/young might be in danger of that type of spiral.

DT can review this thread to put him to sleep.
esp that 13h podcast!

No, alcohol is a depressant. Weed can cause paranoia(this is what happenes with me most of the time). I have had two good experiences with weed out of maybe 15. The last time I used I was at my pa house in the middle of nowhere with my best friend and good stuff. I got high and had to gonto bed because my heart was racing so bad from paranoia.

Weed effects are also inconsistent between people and rather drastically. Can be helpful for some and less helpful for others.

I don't know what the testing limits are nor do I really care to find out. Especially since this is my work computer and I don't care to find out the hard way what trigger word monitors might be installed.

Don't mind Rick, he retired to the in the villages in florida.......the only thing he has to be motived for is 3pm dinner at the clubhouse and watching fox news.
