Sourlands Mountain Preserve Conditions

I was there tonight too and musta skipped this section because I didn't see any trees. It was super dry, probably the driest I've ever seen it. The rocks were actually dusty which made them pretty slippery.

Yeah it's weird, this spring was the wettest I've ever seen it as well. It was so dry yesterday I actually hosed dust off the bike when I got home, and had to take a shower to get dust off my legs and arms. Tho going OTB twice probably had something to do with that...

Still dry and slippery/dusty rocks. Saw the tree this time not too far from "3 balls" and needs a chainsaw.

how are thing up there?!? For possible Tues ... or Wed ride?! Have some friends from out west that just came in town for some mtb action all week.
Was going to start out with Jungle or Sourlands tomorrow...

thanks guys!

its dry. we had a light rain move through last night but nothing major. we need the water.

thanks clarkenstein.. we are going out there today and hopefully it's all good !

unless you say otherwise b/c of the weather.

thanks!

Primo except leaves starting to obscure the trails - especially around new shoes. Orange markers from last week's Biondi trail run came in handy.

FYI two big trees down on white trail 0.35 miles north from marker 4 (going clockwise). Will need ranger Chris' chainsaw to remove.

Great shape.

Jeff let ranger Chris know those 2 trees are still down on ridge trail after marker 4 going towards boulderama. Also saw today two scary leaners about 0.14 miles from marker 9 heading towards marker 8.

Awesome conditions today in the sub-freezing temps. Most of the ridge trail and roaring rocks were completely hardpack snow. Some rock faces had patches of ice, which was all that I could complain about. A lot of frozen mud, so only ride in sub-freezing, so it wouldn't be good tomorrow with temps projected to be higher than 40.

Think I saw you just starting out ~ 2pm - I was just finishing a run. A little mud at the bottom but not bad - top is fine.

hey rick! Yeah, blk truck...fat bike.. that's me. Were you in the silver car pullin' in around that time? Think I saw you too. Love Sourlands... haven't been there in a couple of months and first time on the fattie...and bam... about a mile in.. rear hub goes boom...sucks... drove all that way for little dirt. arg. I'll try next Sunday hopefully..

Cheers!

Kris-

Great on top, especially red trail, but white getting there is a mess. Couple more days and/or freeze it will be good to go
