Tariffs...what to make of them.

Foreshadowing is usually more subtle than this, lol.
I was telling Utah separately that I kind of like the transparency of this administration. Look at the lies it took to get everyone to accept the Weapons of Mass Destruction bullshit for invading Iraq. For Venezuela it's "We're blowing up their ships because of Narco-Terrorism. Ah fuck it, we just want their oil."

It's like a guy telling you he's gonna punch you in the face right before he punches you in the face.

This immediately came to mind:

Shortly after Thanksgiving I was out shopping with my 8-year-old and she decided she wanted to buy a Christmas gift for my wife. I reminded her she has to keep the secret for a long time because Christmas is a few weeks away. We got home and she made it about 30 seconds before blowing the surprise and telling my wife.

One amusing/frightening meme I saw suggested DJT is looking for the US to get so embroiled into some sort of conflict that by the time 2028 rolls around, his team will come up with some excuse to suspend National elections. Granted, there's a solid chance DJT himself will be a drooling vegetable by 2028... but that won't matter any to his handlers.

Another comment I heard recently regarding Venezuela is US oil companies might not want to increase production from those sources, but they would be keen on making sure no other country comes in to increase production. At least for now.

Stephen Miller, saying the quiet part out loud

Nobody’s going to fight the United States militarily over the future of Greenland,” Mr. Miller told Jake Tapper, the CNN host, after being asked repeatedly whether he would rule out using military force.

The remarks were part of a vocal push by Mr. Miller, long a powerful behind-the-scenes player in Trump administration policy, to justify American imperialism and a vision for a new world order in which the United States could freely overthrow national governments and take foreign territory and resources so long as it was in the national interest.

“We live in a world, in the real world, Jake, that is governed by strength, that is governed by force, that is governed by power,” he said. “These are the iron laws of the world since the beginning of time.”

Now this is truly some disturbing shit.
