Tariffs...what to make of them.

Stalin didn't just take them, they were given to him.
So the 1.5 million Japanese the Russians killed or captured in Manchuria didn't help us out?
They were given eastern Poland and parts of Manchuria... They kept alot more... And not like they actually followed the agreement at yalta anyway..

And Trump is saying that we and the soviets fought together and that is incorrect. Of course the soviets fighting the nazis helped us... And the Russian invasion of Manchuria.... Although that happened on the same day as nagasaki.... Japanese were already done for at that point. But it was a factor.

Well looking at it this way,the Germans were done with before D-Day.

The Russian offensive in Manchuria began three days after Hiroshima and six days before Japan surrendered. So, yeah, Japan was done, and Stalin was just being his brutal self.

The Japanese armed forces lost 2,121,000 KIA in WW2. 46,700 were KIA in Manchuria. Per Ajrp.awn.gov.au

After World War II there were from 560,000 to 760,000 Japanese personnel in the Soviet Union and Mongolia interned to work in labor camps as POWs.[1] Per Wikipedia.

Your phone screenshot is from Nathan N. Prefer, who resides near you in Ft. Meyers, in the Warfare History Network (Spring 2018.) Nate cites no sources, so I can’t tell where he got his number. No other source that I could find supports his number and all are lower. Where did you get your 1.5 million number from?

Best of luck with your Ph.D thesis.

No, but if it wasn't for D-Day the war would last longer.
So the Russians would have gotten to Berlin a little later in the summer of '45. So a couple hundred thousand dead Americans was worth saving Western Europe?

The Russian offensive in Manchuria started 90 days after the European theater was ended as agreed to at Yalta, so it wasn't Stalin being brutal, he was just keeping his promise.
Ph. D thesis?
Fine I'll buckle to your numbers but that's still a lot of pieces taken off the board. And definitely helped the Japanese to decide to surrender. You can't debate that.

Yes absolutely... Taliban had names and I'm sure those people are still being hunted down to this day.
But where was all the outrage when that happened? The protests at universities, the pointing of fingers? There's a lot of other bad shit that happened (and is still happening) outside of Ukraine and Gaza, but I guess since it didn't happen in the last month since Trump was elected, it doesn't count or exist?

Anyone have friends/family members on facebook that just spew out the most outrageous shit on their timeline?

I don't even care what side you align with, but it's the only way i keep in touch with what the other side feels thinks, its one of my rituals in the morning to check this persons latest updates lol

yes... i've had to "unfollow" a few because it was just way too much and i couldn't deal with logging in and basically seeing a cartoon post telling women to keep their legs shut, etc... also just so much easily fact checked misinformation being spewed (both sides)... i, unfortunately, also unfriended someone because their posts were literally vile.... which i think is saying a lot with my NJ potty mouth

I think there was a TON of outrage at that debacle of an Afghanistan exit. By FAR the biggest of Bidens failures IMO...That was a train wreck. I was personally outraged, I can assure you. But this is what happens when we choose to "nation build" in a place that is not much of a nation...it never works. Up and leaving was always going to be a mess, but that was just a disaster.

Are you surprised at people protesting whats happening in Gaza? I mean im totally on board with Isreal going after Hamas....kill all of the terrorists, fine by me.....But when they take our weapons and go WWII Toyoko bombing campaign and kill tens of thousands of civilians...im not on board with that. It was really hard to us to get the enemy in Iraq too....we didnt level all of Mosul.

I'm amazed at how many don't get tired of continuously paddling upstream.....or on the flip side, don't have a terrible sunburn...

He didnt declare marshall law, the Ukrainian parliament did in accordance with their constitution.

GB didnt have elections during WWII, the US imprisoned an entire race of people and took away everything they owned..(never gave it back either)..was the UK/US dictatorships?

Banning political parties is not news, happens all over Europe...we don't officially do it here, but they way our system works, we effectively ban them.

Im not expecting the Ukraine to be as free as the US right now when 20% of their country is being occupied by Russia.....The country is infiltrated by spies, they go around and find targets to hit....I guess my point is...this is not an easy world to be living in....so to judge them on the fact that they don't have american freedom is a little absurd.....Russia not only has no other political party, Putin just murders anyone who opposes him....look up Alexei Navalny @Pearl
