Not saying I agree or disagree with Elon Musk running DOGE and trying to shrink the government. People are screaming that he's unelected. It's been really interesting to me that he's doing this in an appointed position by Trump who was elected while during the last year or years of the last administration nobody knew who the fuck was running the government. We just knew for sure at the end it wasn't Biden.
I don't have any idea of the inner workings of the Democrats so I have no idea WTF the plan was, if there was a plan. But certainly there had to be a contingent that knew that Biden was falling apart and probably un-electable and Harris was even worse and they didn't get their way. Harris was probably the worst candidate for president in the sense of being elected since the invention of the radio when it came to getting a message out, and I'm including Trump in that who's message is so mixed. The Biden-Harris donations being available to her and no one else probably played a huge role, as did her being a well known, if not well liked figure.
It's crazy to me though that she was the one they went with. I think MANY people in the country would have gone for a middle of the road Democrat candidate that had at least a smidgen of being relatable. She was selected too late in the election cycle for someone else to get nominated, but too early in the cycle where she got enough face time for people to dislike her.
If you're interested in what happened in the Harris campaign that lead to a lot of her failure, this episode of Pod Save America was a great listen. It had on the people who ran her campaign being interviewed on what happened.
