Tariffs...what to make of them.

Bro, every six weeks for the past five years you have posted on this site that the economy was on the verge of collapse at any moment. Yet the Dow grew by almost 15,000 points.
Bro, for the last six years you posted a new thread almost ever six weeks noting the economy is about to crash any day - Are you now noting the economy was better than you projected or are you just trolling?
It was one big call that I said that. I was wrong, don't exaggerate. And we were at the time until money printer Powell printed a gazillion dollars. And then we were again at the end of 18 when the repo market was bailed out with...printed money...and end of 19/beginning of 20 it was about to fall off a cliff and...oh so convenient covid and ...money printing Powell(Trump stimmy checks actually). Is the economy doing well now or just the stock market? They aren't the same. For the record I have changed how I think on markets. I'm more objective now and follow the trend. You're a pretty smart guy, how well is the stock market doing when you subtract M2(money supply)? Well, it hasn't quite recovered from the dot com bubble. What's this mean? Just that the assets haven't appreciated, the dollar has depreciated. Exactly why a Ford F150 premium went from $15k in 2000 to around $100k today.

If the economy stays strong for 4 years, maybe Don Junior? Ivanca? Or will the Trump train be over by then?
I kinda hope not the presidency but wouldn’t be surprised if Don Jr does run for some office somewhere maybe congress, Ivanka would be a surprise, don’t think she’s interested.

Trump says his retribution will be our success so I’m expecting the economy to be strong in 4 years.

I think it’s more likely Don Jr develops a media company, especially with all of the stuff coming out about the current media’s ties to the government purse and censorship demands.

No Dave - you post here more than the next ten people combined on a regular basis that the economy is doomed. You have been doing it for years.

Now you are noting the economy is fine.

Should we bring your thread back about moving out of NJ - that was a classic.

Yes. Post my quotes. Bring it. The stock market is not the economy. Did I state the economy is fine? I don’t think I did. I think I stated the markets and 401ks are at all time highs. This means the 1%ers are at all time highs. drink the koolaid.

And on the record, I do not feel that the economy is perfectly fine. I’m not an economist, but saying prices on everything going through the roof tells me at some point people won’t be able to afford things. I would disagree with my comment if salaries kept up to prices, but they are nowhere near.

I don’t think your conclusions here are exactly “on the money”. I also think that following the trend is a dangerous game.

The only conclusion that I’ve come up with in the investing game is that if listened to every guy who “knew what they were doing” I’d be broke right now.

No thanks - my responses to you are limited, you tend to regurgitate the same nonsense over and over and refuse to acknowledge or discuss the opposing sides points.

Further, you contradict yourself on a repeating basis in this thread and others.

As other said in the past, you are either trolling or…..

Not saying I agree or disagree with Elon Musk running DOGE and trying to shrink the government. People are screaming that he's unelected. It's been really interesting to me that he's doing this in an appointed position by Trump who was elected while during the last year or years of the last administration nobody knew who the fuck was running the government. We just knew for sure at the end it wasn't Biden.

I don't have any idea of the inner workings of the Democrats so I have no idea WTF the plan was, if there was a plan. But certainly there had to be a contingent that knew that Biden was falling apart and probably un-electable and Harris was even worse and they didn't get their way. Harris was probably the worst candidate for president in the sense of being elected since the invention of the radio when it came to getting a message out, and I'm including Trump in that who's message is so mixed. The Biden-Harris donations being available to her and no one else probably played a huge role, as did her being a well known, if not well liked figure.

It's crazy to me though that she was the one they went with. I think MANY people in the country would have gone for a middle of the road Democrat candidate that had at least a smidgen of being relatable. She was selected too late in the election cycle for someone else to get nominated, but too early in the cycle where she got enough face time for people to dislike her.

If you're interested in what happened in the Harris campaign that lead to a lot of her failure, this episode of Pod Save America was a great listen. It had on the people who ran her campaign being interviewed on what happened.

a middle of the road democrat is basically unbeatable. But they would never make it through the primary.

Exactly, because you exaggerated what I said.

I follow the daily trend.I trade daily. I use a very simple exponential moving average bundle I created that works well for my timeframe and scalping(type of trading that works for me). I get long once 13 and 48 ema cross above 200ema and get our or go short if the they cross below the 200ema. Simple, easy peasy. https://www.investopedia.com/ask/answers/042415/what-average-annual-return-sp-500.asp We are well above the average return. Once this bull market is done(not yet) a means reversion WILL happen and the 10% avg will stand true.

No one looks out for your money better than yourself.

I don't want to read into this but are you betting on a Kingdom or an Oligarchy. Neither is good for us Americans that believe in the Constitution.
That is why George Washington step down after 2 terms. He said, at the time this Democracy is a grand experiment.

Not sure what your point or question is here. Are you implying that I don’t believe in the constitution? That couldn’t be further from the truth. Why would I be betting on a kingdom or an oligarchy? Neither is an interest of mine.

We don’t have a democracy, we have a constitutional republic. If we can keep it. The experiment is the self governing part.

Trump was constitutionally elected and therefore has the power of 1/3 of our constitution. He is the sole executive with full authority across the entire executive branch. The authority is granted to the president(any president) to faithfully execute the laws of the US. This includes routing out the corruption from all of the alphabet agencies who get their power from him, he’s obligated to do it by law. There are limits on presidential powers but not as much as you think. The entire executive branch serves at the pleasure of the president. Full stop. He has the full authority to get rid of the corruption, fraud and waste as he’s doing right now. It’s the main reason a president enjoys immunity, they have to be able to govern without tricks of obstruction from the opposition.
