Pretty sure its after labor day.
....
That said, even though we all know how challenging Wayway is, when you string everthing on this course together, it's truly epic. I did the endurance race at French Creek in PA 2 weeks ago: 56 miles, 6.5 hours, almost 8k' of climbing and lots of rocks...it was not easy, but Bearscat is gonna make it seem like a cakewalk.
As of now, the cutoff time for lap 1 is 4 hours...not everyone is gonna make it.
Its going to hurt. Waway's fire roads are more tech than half the parks in Jersey.
I'm looking to do a lap on Tuesday mid afternoon, probably start at the Pumphouse lot to avoid swimming.
Did you get out there today? If so, how was it?
Anybody tryin' it out tomorrow afternoon?
It's going to be a nice day... and I don't have to work the second job at night 🙂

Anyone know when the course will be marked for a pre-ride- trying to see if I will be able to make the cut off time and then bring my lights for the second lap
I'm doing a lap Wed. at 1pm with a crew of Cat 1 racers. Its gonna be a fast -paced lap. Starting at the Barry Lakes lot.
Anyone know the cut off time to start Lap 2?
Pretty sure its after labor day.
Print out the map and ride it. Really just 3 loops, one is fire road the whole way.
OK Thanks. No way I'd keep up though... My hope is to just make the cut-off time for lap 1.
I have been thinking about this course a bit more. It is really a bit of an equalizer. It's too technical to go really fast in many of the sections. The places where it is "smooth" frequently involve climbing. I think most people will make the cutoff, thats a 6.25 mph avg. Just keep the mantra of sure and steady. This course, IMO, is mentally challenging. 10 miles of it is very raw and not ridden frequently; there is no worn in line, there are a lot of rocks. Ride heads up, don't drill it on the hills and walk something if it's too tough. Oh yeah and if you are hoofing it, please yield to mounted riders.
The one problem I do have though is the internal battle of ego versus good sense when it comes to riding gnar that may be more prudently and efficiently walked.
Good mantra, too.
