Love these walkway lights, but reviews suggest a tendency for the base to fill with water and back up into the battery compartment.

Drilled drainage holes in the base, and added a little plumbers grease to the O-ring to help it do it’s job.
Trifecta would have been dialectical grease on contacts, maybe when I change batteries.

Of 10 in service, only 1 had started to corrode.

I cleaned out the the HE washing machine filter. Yuck! I am applying to be Mike Rowe’s side kick tomorrow.

My HE machine is over 6 years old, and I didn't know there was a filter until recently. I've yet to brave this project. Probably explains the smell when it fires up...

It's bad, but it's actually not THAT bad...unless you've neglected it. In that case, pull the panels off the washer, and take off all the hoses inside to clean them out. Lots of stuff was hiding in ours.

I don't think I've done it since the new washer. So we are talking 3 years....
It was like small mouse of lint, a part of noodles, a kid's jewelry bead.

First run a rinse to get it nice and moist and then easy to remove the gunk in the filer. After that run tub clean cycle or normal cycle with bleach.

@rlb yes, it would help with smell
