Things that make you frown :(

Sucks....right before the holiday weekend too. Reminds me of my GMC sierra. The day after hurricane Sandy went through my truck had a wheel bearing disintegrate badly exactly as the weather cleared (at 45K miles). Im still pissed about that.
Yup about 2-3 years ago the rear diff on my 2013 Santa Fe exploded at around 55k miles right before July 4th weekend.

Waited about 2 weeks to get it back However since I did buy the car CPO I only paid $50 for some cover that wasn’t included. The service manager told me it would have been about $3500 out of pocket if not.

Hope the truck starter issue is more simple.

Got a doctor bill today for $220 for work done two years and four months ago!
Is this even legal? Never got a bill before, or paid a bill for this work done years ago.
They claim it's the difference between what my insurance paid and what they billed

They should send you the detail.

In other news.

I just tested positive for strep.....

they did send details, it's makeup prices not paid by insurance, just weird it took them years.

Do you have medicare advantage or medigap? If the latter, I'd make sure they paid correctly before sending the doc any money.

They did that nonsense with my back surgery. Kept getting bills from XYZ, called the insurance co; "we paid ZYX [where they worked]". Called the desk, they either were stupid, or played stupid. Called the insurance Co back, and they called them directly. Received a refund within 20 minutes from the place.

Was both surprised/relieved that the insurance company actually went to bat for me.

The system is so incredibly broken, and skewed in favor of the house.
I say broken, but certainly by design.

It’s like, they deliberately need to eff it up so’s they makework for themselves, thereby ensuring they have a job. Vicious circle of incompetence.

Similar yet different is our legal system, where delay and postpone are well-used and somehow acceptable tactics ensuring any progress is unspeedy.

How do EOBs work with medicare and an insurance provider?

Since we are getting close...

Something Pete could pull with 'patient responsibility'?

Two options are medigap (supplemental) or medicare advantage (basically an HMO that replaces medicare). Latter is cheaper but locked in to a limited number of providers. If you can aftord it (and it's much cheaper than pre-Medicare coverage), go medigap. Can go to any doctor anywhere who takes medicare, which is pretty much all of them.

Medicare sends monthly statements, so does your medigap provider. And can always look at your account online.
