Things that make you frown :(

Riding home after renewing my library card, stopped for traffic, had a mechanical as I tried to pedal.
Thinking rear hub is stripped out. Anyway, down I went making a big spectral, even the nice cop stopped to help.
Bur alas, no hope, mechanical problem. My good neighbor saw me on the ground and stopped to help.
Pulled a few muscles, but all is good. Next stop da shop.

Feel better soon!

Analyzing my recent crash. My bike has a dropper post, allowing me to raise and lower the seat with a lever on the handlebars.
Seat down for having my feet on the ground while stopped and up for more power peddling.
As I approached the busy intersection I lower the seat just enough to have my feet on the ground.
My opportunity comes to move into traffic,
I start peddling and raise the seat simultaneously and start moving, the trans blows and peddling becomes ineffective.
To avoid entering the busy street I quickly steer to the right but don’t get the seat down fast enough to plant my feet, so over I go.

Hope it doesn’t put you out of commission too long (the fall or the mechanical)

What do you think in 20 years we'll be paying an analog car "tax" I am absolutely fine driving my 2006 for the rest of my life as long as i can keep it running.

My friend got a new subaru and the things he says it does feels like a violation of common sense

Glad I happened to be driving by. Good to hear you're alright! Can totally hear the hub fail in that video. With how much you ride it was probably just a matter of time. Torque to get across that intersection and it just gave out.

Damn hackers.

PSA to all - enable 2 factor authentication on all your accounts. Because I have this enabled for PP I was able to reset and fix my account within 1 minute of getting this security message which was legit.

FYI, you get a message like this from ANYONE about ANYTHING, you go to the website yourself. Don't follow links. That's just stupid.

Exactly. I got a text and email as part of the security alert which neither had a link just for that reason I had a feeling it was legit.

But I still went direct to the app to login and verify my identify. I also have a passkey linked to my iPhone via the PP app so it was all done cleanly.

i had a similar 'log in attempt' email from my microsoft account last month, so i went to the website myself to login and it had like 30 failed login attempts (i only got ONE two step email) but password got changed, chromes password generator is kinda awesome btw.

do you have to pay if you come out of the LT and straight into the port authority parking deck?

my guess is probably - I'd imagine that is where they'd put a camera

It took a couple days to post - they are reading license plates, not ezpass tags.

I think the cameras are just east of the parking garage entrance on E 41st. So my guess would be no, you wouldn't get charged, but I'm not sure what the range of the cameras are. Good question.

i am pretty f-ing sure work f-d up on my first paycheck of the year... instead of deducting $X from my paycheck as my 401k contribution, they just labeled it as a "pre-tax flat amount" and they also failed to contribute the company match.

yes... i put in a f-ing ticket with HR... but like WTF. i am so pissed right now.
