Wildlife

This group was left by their mother to float down in the middle of the river by themselves. Not a good idea because of many large Eagles flying overhead.

Half an hour later Mom did come back and the little ones were all playing closer to shore. I was not on a bike today, I was on a little fishing boat.

Nice picture woody 🙂

I saw a big black bear at Mt Creek today and my Husband later saw a mom bear and 2 cubs. Awwwww 🙂

I also saw a cute fuzzy and huge woodchuck run across the trail there today. Cute little buggers they are.

Seems like there are a lot of turtles on the trails lately! Came across this little guy on the red trail at 6MR this morning, not to far from the concrete bridge. I decided to snap a shot of him before I relocated him off the trail. I actually feel lame posting it seeing Woody's awesome pic.

At Nassau Trails

not wildlife, more appropriately wilddeath. Saw a tiny fawn dead along bellemead-griggstown road this morning - the size of a small dog... sad

Every time we have been to Mt. Creek (7 days of dh riding there so far this season) people have seen bears..They seem to like the Dominion jump line. I am terrified to see one! LOL

Saw these hopping ALL OVER the place, you had to see me trying to avoid them 😀

I've seen some turkeys and snakes at 6MR.

The most wildlife I've seen has been at Jim Thorpe, PA on Broad Mtn. Saw two large rattlesnakes - a good 6' long each - under the power lines. Rode up to a mama bear with two cubs on the American Standard trail, maybe 30 feet away from me.

Saw a red fox on Kings Highway East yesterday...at first I was thinking wow that is a big cat in that field, then as I got closer i realized it was a fox. Was really beautiful...by the time I got my phone out to take a pic it was gone🙁

I take full responsibility for the dead snake in Clayton, smushed on the 4th...didn't see him until my tire was overtaking his head. bridges trail I think, not sure...didn't stop for carnage pics, still feel bad.

Of any situation to encounter a bear in the woods, I think a DH bike under my ass and gravity on my side would pretty much be a best-case scenario anytime!

I saw all the tiny frogs down by Hog Bog today. I also came up on a large hawk tearing into some small critter ( I think it may have been a young skunk). I watched it for a while after it had flown up to a tree. It was right on the trail until I came up on it.

I saw a black snake in allaire today by the hog bog section. What a beauty! I think its 4feet. Sorry No pictures.
