I almost ran over one Sunday in Bedminster. It was on one of the gravel roads and was completely brown since it was a bit muddy out.

Dino-gator day at the Carlton reserve. The first one hangs out in the same area for years now. Biggest one I've ever seen. Looks like he has a wild pig in his belly. Or a mountain biker





His girlfriend is half his size



This one is a foot or 2 shorter than the first

I didn’t take the photo. I know it’s on McKeags Meadow in Sterling. I’m quite familiar with that turn the trail.

And today, if you look closely you can see some black flies on Otis. There were 10,000,000 others out there ready to suck your blood.

Nobody had bug dope. It was brutal.

And I haven't seen one down here yet (alive) but I rode this trail yesterday and ride it once a week. Small for a diamondback

Like I said, I haven't seen a live one yet. That was a guy I follow on strava - his ride today. I'll try to catch anything else but I don't fool with venomous snakes!

Wasn't riding but walking...I've never seen a beaver out of water. I thought they were the size of a groundhog...

Biggest native rodents in the US - ave size is 4 times a groundhog. Only invasive capybaras down here are bigger. I was walking the D&R canal towpath years ago and one jumped in the water - sounded like someone dropped a boulder. Saw it swim away - yuge!

For a while NJ Fish and Wildlife wanted sightings of bobcat's reported. I think the numbers have increased and they only want to know about ones that are roadkill or injured.
