Car-spotting thread

The GT3 Podcast is live.

Downloaded the Podcast and finished it this morning. Def need more @Carson stories. Not sure the agenda hit the mark on the title - "Anybody Can Buy an Exotic Car" other than once you buy into the exotic market, you can maintain in it with resale values. Or maybe if its - this cop can do it so can you! Turned into a little, what are all the cop tricks towards the end. Dave - you are very well and methodically spoken and would listen to the next, regardless.

Thank you! Yeah it definitely strayed off topic. But not by my doing. I offered to come back and talk cop stuff to get it out of his system, then once to talk more about cars, Tail of the Dragon, my buddies R8, whatever.

Forgot to mention. We chatted off mike for a bit before we got started. Ryan is pretty sure I stopped him when he was younger. He said I was cool and I didn't write him. I told him I'm sure it had to do with his attitude towards LEO and his talking skills lol.

Maybe? This was before the internet and I was a dumb 20 year old kid. My understanding was that these were two separate issues. All I know is I never started the car unless I could run it 15+ minutes and I never parked in driveways in case I had to move to let someone out lol.

I had an 88 RX7. I had a problem with it not starting after I got new plugs in it and they put them in wrong. There’s 2 different types of plugs, and I think one makes a bigger spark than the other. So the little spark was getting a lot of gas and flooding. This happened mostly when you would start the car and then immediately turn it off.

This is when I learned I could push the car from the door, pop the clutch and start it that way. Lots of gas / stinky exhaust after that.

I took it to a Mazda dealer and they sorted it out.

Nothing sounded like a rotary. At least not back then. It’s sad they brought the rotary back only to put in a hybrid. 🙁

I was the passenger snapped this driving thru Motown green today. Wtf.

Saw this Taycan last night after MartyCon

@Carson WTF.
I'm not there yet with crazy cars. 🙂 But honestly something like that ridiculous Ford could easily replace my Honda Fit as my drives now are from my house into downtown or to trail heads. And a lot of these trailheads are steep/gravel/offroadish so some stupid buggy would be perfect.

-There are inspections. We get one "free" year transferring the cars to NC but then must do inspection. Which is great as mine has been expired for two years.
-I'm assuming no inspections on diesels. So many stupid brodozers with black exhaust and the stench. Town nearby housed the biggest emissions-delete company for diesels and they are facing some serious federal fines and maybe jail time. Good.
-I think you're fine with an old VW in pretty much any state. NJ has the QQ plates, and I'm not sure what's going on with the collector plates. Years ago I brought my 1981 Mustang to the DMV in NJ to get the "inspection" sticker and the woman was FURIOUS having to give me a sticker with no inspection. I showed up with no interior except for the driver's seat with two bolts holding it down. I'm sure there's something similar here. And when you get old you realize 25 years old is cars that still seem new-ish.
-The contraption above is probably old enough that it can pass the inspection for that year if it's not burning oil, or may be exempt. I'm actually wondering if surrounding, more rural counties don't have inspections. I'm in the big city.

I'm holding out for US Postal Service LLVs to get sold at auction and I'll get one of those for driving around town. 🙂
I made this prior post about getting an LLV if/when they go to auction. I'm in the middle of your podcast and basically screaming at you guys discussing the LLV.
