Cars, it's electric! Do Do Do

agreed....I mean they should have just programmed it with formula 1 V10 engine sounds so long as they were going to be faking it. Might as well do it right lol.
Maybe if you can scroll through which era of F1 car.

In all seriousness one of the most appealing parts of the electric car to me is the fact that there is no engine/transmission noise. It's one thing people have said was awesome going from a normal luxury car to electric.

I love the sound of my voodoo at 8000 rpm but this 1400 HP mach E sounds wild

That Ionix probably sounds better than the new Ferrari I saw at Dilly’s Monday. I swear it must have had a 4cyl. My 2003 VW TDI sounds better.

Although the price coming down means to me that no one is ordering it. 😁
Too many other alternatives out there now that look and perform better.

I can see the Ford Lightning being the most produced vehicle, gas or EV in a few years time. Just takes a little bit to get all the kinks worked out. I'm glad to see the price coming down as well.
Assuming the future is electric? Electric cars exist as a result of a mandate from our government. It would be interesting to see if another technological solution (e.g. Hydrogen, etc.) is developed in our lifetime to solve whatever problem EV's are supposed to solve.

I'd think that battery tech will improve - perhaps approaching the energy density of petroleum based fuels,
and similar recharge times.

Would love to see a hydrogen solution where a robot replaces a cartridge - and off ya go.
The issue is the chance of a rupture accident, and explosive result, vs an uncontrollable lithium fire.
Scale that up to a train car or trailer - with more on the rail/road, the likelihood goes up.
So generate "in-place" ? Maybe a by-product of some other industrial process?

We've been over this before. Hydrogen has come and gone for cars. It's an inherently silly idea to use electricity to make, store and dispense hydrogen into a car which then uses the hydrogen to create electricity to power said car.

I agree with your post, but I think electric takes less line time to manufacture and some may see that as more profit. There are far more machined parts in ICE vs electric.

what do we use to make petroleum based fuels?

it has everything to do with energy density, and the economic formula to create/deliver it.
Also mentioned it should be a by-product of some other process....

What does petroleum fuel have to do with this? H2 will never compete with cars being powered by electricity the owner create ftom the sun (or wind).
