Best of luck with the recovery. I've seen a lot of these guys and have yet to see a dog win an altercation with a car (or drone). (Oddly not the first time I've heard about drones in the emergency room - buy me a beer sometime and I'll tell you about the craziest client I've ever had.)Sitting at the Vet E.R. because Bailey decided to fight a passing car and lost the fight. Hopefully just a couple of nasty cuts on her right hind leg, but there’s another dog with a serious emergency being treated so we’re stuck here for the next couple of hours…actually, I think she may have been hit by a drone…in fact, I think she was surely hit by a drone that was shaped like a grey Toyota Corolla. First drone victim in NJ.
Update…after about 6 hours at the vet and $2300 she’s back home, no broken bones, sutures and all dopey with a cone…next couple of weeks are going to be interesting.
Thank you. She’s doing fine, seeing her vet today (hopefully) to check for any suture infection (she’s under antibiotics and anti-inflamatory in addition to pain killers). We took the cone off and monitored her, she hasn’t paid attention to the bandages at all, so we took it off and so far so good. She stopped limping and puts her weight in it as well. I guess we’ll have to file under ‘Unconventional Christmas Shopping’ and be grateful it wasn’t worse, I just almost had a heart attack when I heard the bang (I was looking over my shoulder for the incoming car and never saw her jumping at it). I’m hoping she understands she can’t win those fights and leave cars alone now…Best of luck with the recovery. The cone is annoying for about 2 hours but they get used to it. It's a lot more annoying to you than to them.
Understood, but assault charges.
You can either just start beatboxing, or take your phone out and record it.
Depends on your mood.
Glad she’s doing fine so far! Hopefully she did learn that lesson.Thank you. Thank you Frank. It's really my fault, I was making sure we were out of the way of the incoming car and did not expect her to jump at it while she was taking a leak on the side of the road...Poor Bailey, and of course, you guys. It’s hard when pups are hurt or suck.
That two kids #1 and the other one seemed to just snake their way to the basket in the 2nd half. The Bailey 3 pointer gave us hope, but was quickly deflated. Our Defense should not allowed them to put up 80 points period. We were there. I assume this is what it's like being a Jets fan? I mean it's been 34 years following this team now and I swear since Steve Worthy left, there hasn't been a team that has really over-performed since then. Every year they manage to do just a bit worse than they should.
Did anyone in the stadium not think that last Princeton shot was going in? We all knew with 100% certainty they were going to score.
Our Defense should not allowed them to put up 80 points period.
Owning three dogs, can't remember the number of emergency vet visits. Glad Bailey is ok.Sitting at the Vet E.R. because Bailey decided to fight a passing car and lost the fight. Heal upHave not been on the bike since 10/10/24. Just had an MRI of the shoulder because it seems I was not getting any strength back on left shoulder. Showed a partial rotator cuff tear grade 2 and grade 3 shoulder separation with a cracked Acromion bone. No surgery required. More time and strength training.
Thank you. Oh yeah, once we got inside the vet Bailey turned nasty and started barking at all the staff, so she got a muzzle on…then she let go and peed herself.Owning three dogs, can't remember the number of emergency vet visits. Glad Bailey is ok.
Story for comic relief: our mix-breed lived-on-the-streets 12 pound rescue has to be taken to the vet with a muzzle even after 5 years. So he's vomiting blood and everything one night. As usual he ate something he found. I take him to the ER at 3 am. Covid days so I hand him over, snarling tasmanian devil with a muzzle. 2 hours later they bring him back with a bigger muzzle over the one I put on. Apparently he got one canine outside my muzzle and was trying to put it to good use!
Don't feel bad. Probably the majority of my patients need a muzzle. They only come see when I'm - at best - drawing blood and giving vaccines.Thank you. We actually suggested to the vet she may need the muzzle. Just makes sense.Don't feel bad. Probably the majority of my patients need a muzzle. They only come see when I'm - at best - drawing blood and giving vaccines.
We don't take it personally - I don't like seeing my doctor either. The only time we get bent out of shape is when an owner insists their pet doesn't need a muzzle - then I show them my missing fingertip and make sure they understand that I'm not asking for permission to use a muzzle.
