Smokey & the Bandit Extended Online Race

Went out and met up with the whole Fidodie crew. Great to see Manny and Jeff again. Somehow managed to stop the GPS in the middle but I think its clear from the straight line that I was riding the whole time (+ a whole lot of witnesses). 😱

Great day and great folks.

Anyway 5pts X 2 = 10 Pts

Tim

P.S. Robin was that you I saw on Higginsville when the herd of deer almost took you out? Wild.

Sunrise at Allaire this morning.
2 hrs of mostly frozen goodness 🙂

Also loops in the park with my boy after. for those of you without kids...you probably have NO idea how painful this kind of ride is. Like no training exercise you have even done. Strava defaulted it to a run instead of a ride. :hysterica

The 49 minute track stand
😀

I missed the double day yesterday so:

Double-double, cheese-cheese, burger-burger please! 🙄

Who remembers that? 🙂

10 points?

Here's my "tour de nj" loop/GPS art that I attempted in january but failed due to getting lost. Started at home, to griggstown causeway, then canal road to the towpath, then up route 1 a bit, northwest to Pennington, then northeast back to Montgomery. Longhill road after 35 miles kicked my ass - I think I set the slowest time record for that segment (COM- chump of the mountain?). Anywho, last segment was across the sourlands pipeline - tons of mud and creeks - at one point I was riding through a creek almost a foot deep. Feet got soaked, fortunately it was a warm day. The complete loop as mapped out was 44 miles, tried to go for 50 but again my quads burned out at about 45 miles. Took some pictures but when I got home the camera was gone - must have popped out of my pocket going down the pipeline. Also good thing I used both the garmin 410 and 810 as the 810 just turned off on me twice - was using it for navigation and recording - I have to read the manual more thoroughly. Had plenty of battery left when I got home.

46.1 miles/3:55 min = 6 x 2 = 12 pts plus hopefully a bonus for the gps art??

Sucks about your camera 🙁

Nice job on the art! 😉

That's bonus material in my book 🙂

art was good - i don't feel like climbing zion, otherwise i'd take a look for the camera! there are some tricks to navigating those puddles. the one with the old gate posts is the worse, usually dismount and walk the south side past the gates, then switch to the north side. the towards zion from that has a pass over on the south side of the trail. there is still mud, but can usually float on the thick grass. we'll get out there soon.

Going back to take a look. The entrance from Longhill still had a few inches of snow! I was hike-a-biking quite a bit through that first section - pretty much a swamp right now

Rode to the beach. Stopped for lunch at my favorite little Veggie restaurant on the way back. Good day.

5 hours, 89 miles...10 points.

Bonus...One of Jeff's spots. This is like 10 minutes up the street from my crib. This is in Keepin' it Real, Here we go again, Transition. Probably a bunch of others?

Hiked to the orange gate at the highest point on that effing mountain where I took the last pics and bupkis. Left a note at the kiosk in case someone found it.... tons of hikers out today. Passed two guys driving radio controlled monster truck toys down the pipeline... thats a new one. Also as I pulled into the lot some jackass in a ny yankees jacket is there with his kid anda motocross bike in the back of his pickup. At least he read the rules and left.
