Lots of varied opinions here.

Luke really dislikes one of those OS, but I don't remember which.

Good Luck!

what did you have before - if you are invested into one of the ecosystems, perhaps sticking with it would be both fiscally beneficial and time saving on the old learning curve?

if you are upgrading from a flip phone, and dislike tech, go iphone.

i have a droid razr max hd. it's terrible. i have had motorolla replace it 6! times. I'm good with computers, phones, tech, etc so learning a new phone is never tough for me. I don't play games, i surf the internet, FB, do work for school/work, etc.

it seems like both are fine, i'll probably just go to the store and use them both and see which feels better but i wanted to see if people are heavily polarized one way or the other.

Sorry that's an inside joke, he's still a flipper. I do have a HTC one for 1 1/2 and actually thinks been perfect. Not 1 problem with it at all.

galaxy 5 then. no brainer for the tech savy.

...disclosure - i have an iphone, and have since the 3g came out.
mostly cause i dont want to mess with it. id be tempted with android.

iPhone for simplicity and o/s stability, Galaxy for customization and more free stuff. Both phones work just fine and will do more than you need from a phone.

I've had the iPhone 4 since the day it came out for Verizon in 2010(?). Only reason I upgraded was because my battery started dying faster and the storage was lacking. Now I have had the 5S for a few months and it's also been treating me well.

I noticed that the iPhone doesn't use much battery on Strava compared to some of my friends running it on Samsungs, even with extended battery packs. 3-4 hour rides and I drop to ~85% battery from full. Just in case this matters for you.

I never understood this argument iPhone for simplicity. You've gotta be retarded if you can't figure out how to use either phone. Even Matty is using an Android device and he's a dinosaur 😀

p.s. I own both because work requires me to and use them equivalently. I don't have a big preference for one over the other but I'm a use what you got kind of guy. I must say though that I use the iPhone more for taking photos. I don't like the algorithm Android uses for processing photos. It's not so obvious when you look on the phone but can tell when you load it into a computer. Also, some Android models can be lemons as you experienced with the Razr, but the popular models are pretty solid.

No transitions, active wallpapers, fading screens, etc. It just works out of the box with no 'learning curve'. I believe it's easier to use and operate. There are more available and stable apps as well since there's only one platform to code for, unlike Android. Again, at this point they have come too close to call as they have both caught up to each other in different aspects.

Yah I'm not really into the bells and whistle ui customizing aspect of things. I just want to get done what I need to get done and I think both do a adequate job. I enjoy the extra buttons on the Android devices especially the back button.

What was wrong with the Droid?

Oh Verizon. They won't sell you a quality android phone. Its really sad. And then they will never update it. Move to a better carrier. Sorry Jeremy.
Get a moto x on something else.
