There's a thin line between avoiding becoming an idiot, and having to wear kid gloves so not to offend anyone. I guess I'm not always sure where things fall with respect to that line.

That's all well & good and I get where you're coming from. But IMO the proper male response should be, "Oh yeah, I guess I could see your point. I'm not going to disagree with the OP."

Again, I could be a prude, but if is not something you'd want to talk to a little kid about, then you shouldn't put it in a spot that's readily available to little kids. That's my line. But before I had kids, I didn't have a line, so maybe I am disingenuous prude? At least as I get older and slower, I get the tinniest amount of wisdom.
So you're saying that the movie old school should not be aired on TV because kids can see it?

Strava is going to issue trigger warning to protect you against their microaggressions. but instead of the KOM crown, it will be a little snowflake.

Lew'mo section of the board has been getting a lot of attention lately ...for everything besides riding at lewmo haha

A few thoughts:

1. This segment name is at BEST, in my opinion, asinine and totally nondescriptive. And, I acknowledge that the person who created it probably did not do so with malicious intent.

2. Those of you who are standing up for non-censorship (how righteous!), are you seriously looking to go down in history as defending the "I'm here for the gangbang" Strava segment at Lewis Morris Park?

3. At worst, it's pretty shocking to see as the first Strava segment that will come up for every person who does the Lewis Morris race, including kids, etc... many of whom will, like me, see it totally out of context and not remember or not know the reference.

4. I have seen the movie and I don't even remember this line. I would bet at least 50% of those who see this segment are not going to get the pop culture reference.

5. Words/phrases can have several meanings and connotations. This is actually evidenced by the fact that many of you are attributing it to a movie, which you've convinced yourself, makes it totally harmless (LoL! how silly of you to not have memorized Old School!) However, on the flip side, one extremely negative connotation is that given to the word by porn culture.

6. The worst possible out of context interpretation and negative connotation is that of the rapey/violent/nonconsenting one developed by the porn industry, which objectively has a seedy misogynistic side to it.

7. Those of you who disagree with it being offensive, I respect your opinion - don't act. Sit there and laugh at me through your computer screen. In an ideal world, I would at least hope that you in turn, respect and acknowledge that many others might feel quite the opposite.

8. In real life, if someone said something offensive or spewed lame jokes, I would just drop that person or ride in the opposite direction. I can't do that on Strava. I have to see this stupid segment name each time I ride. Is making 50% of the park users uncomfortable/angry worth your having a chuckle?

You don't have to use strava. Nor do you have to ride a segment that offends you. So instead of asking others to change what offends you, why don't you stop doing what offends you

Spot on. Is the name stupid and in bad taste, sure... If you are offended there are other options; Garmin connect, map my ride, ride with GPS... This isn't even real life, this is Strava. Just ride and don't linger at the trailhead!

Well, hopefully you don't ride Huber as you would likely ride the "big dick descent". I am yet to find it but would be honored to KOM it.

You know, body part euphemisms just don't bother me in the same way rape euphemisms do.
I guess, to each their own but typically a gang bang is a woman or man that wants to have more than one of the opposite sex partners at the same time. Definitely not rape but if it's burned in your brain then it's burned in your brain.
