This Thread Blows - C19 and beyond

WHF instituted in my comp effective immediately... Yesterday. But I have to go in today to tie up loose ends. On the bus to NYC and its pretty empty. 8ppl total.

NYC is going to a ghost town soon... Relatively speaking of course.

Auto call last night at 1am. Schools official closed in my area, including administrator buildings. It’s about to go down hard. If you haven’t already, get food and fill up all your gas tanks.

You should all be prepared to hunker down at home for 3 weeks. This is not a joke.

Administrator - you should post something in the main forums.

People have been preparing to hunker down, that's why supermarkets are empty and people are fighting over hand sanitizer and TP...which is a joke.
The only thing we have to fear...is fear of running out of TP.
Corona is real but our (over) reaction to it is what creates the turmoil panic. Yes be prudent, however remain calm. Running out and buying/hording consumables just makes it difficult for all of us and spreads panic.

I gave the scientific explanation of that a couple of pages back but nobody ever listen to me.

@Norm , what Gallagher are you talking about, Liam or Noel?

The original of course.

Iggy is right about hoarding but it’s not like the entire production system in the world is going to stop working. JFC people.

What happens Monday when half the assholes out there run out of milk? Is there gonna be cow thievery going on or are people going to go to Acme and realize the shelves are full again?

When we run out of alcohol and weed, that’ll be the tipping point after which society will start to break down.

I hope your right, becuse I haven’t gone shopping in over a week. Have a wife and three daughters and I think we only have a few rolls of TP on deck.

We do have a decent amount of papertowels left, and compliments of a facebook friend, theres always this:

Trucks are still running.....the stores will be restocked.....if the trucks stopped, then maybe get concerned

As long as manufacturing doesn't stop, the trucks will keep running.

This isn't the apocalypse, despite what the talking head "experts" will have you believe. If one ever happens where the deaths reach the hundreds of thousands or millions in China first, then its time to buy bullets and head for the hills before it gets here.

Not to sound insensitive, but anyone have a prediction on how far the markets have to go before they bottom with this whole thing?

Between corona and Putin’s oil shenanigans, its a real 5hit show.

They're set to rebound and hit the upper trade limit at open. Doesn't mean the recovery has begun though.

The corona virus can be spread through the air. Think about that. Go check online if you don't believe me. That means if an infected person (with or without symptoms) coughs, everyone in their vicinity can be infected.

I hate to be an alarmist (I'm usually super optimistic) but we need to take this seriously. This is the beginning for us here in the US. No - the stocks markets will not rebound. Yes - delivery trucks and manufacturing are very likely to slow or even halt in the next month. Yes - the subways and office buildings and schools and stores will close. We will all be on lock down, just like China and like Italy. The experts are universally saying we are less prepared than these nations. Once the healthcare workers start getting sick, we are really fucked.

And yes - we will rebound and recover eventually. For now please prepare for the worst. And if I'm wrong, you'll at least have enough toilet paper to last you until retirement. 😳
