It didn't rain, so I spent a couple hours in the garden cleaning up, killing cucumber beetles (by hand), and picking some things that are ready. Cloudy and cool, ideal weather for it. If anyone has a solution for cucumber beetles that works, I'd like to hear it.

Still picking spinach

Grapes are coming along. These are Concord.

Blackberries are done blooming and coming on in massive numbers.

Picked raspberries again and some of the blueberries that were ready. More to come.

Pulled some carrots. These are 'Little Finger', a type of baby carrot ready in about 55 days. It's been 65 days since I planted the seeds.

Any signs of lantern flies on the grapes yet? I hear they are really destructive to vines.

Better late than never, also cucumbers are slow starters again but hope to get going these next few weeks

Been harvesting wild lambs quarters and amaranth which self seeded with the peppers. Also grandma's canola greens are up. More time in the garden. I'm keeping up with it, so far.

Ended up getting some blueberries after all.

The other winter squash putting on fruit right now is acorn squash. This is my second year trying them (seeds from one we got at ShopRite last year). Last year was an after thought and I got a couple small ones. Started indoors and planted at the same time as the rest this year and they're really growing. Already several nice sized acorns.

Finally starting to see some figs. View attachment 217359
The tree is massive, but there's only a couple branches with figs starting. What can I do to increase it?

figs grow on new and 1 year old growth. Hack the hell out of it this fall.
take off height, and interior pointing branches.
It has been a slow year for my in-ground - put on a lot of new growth - finally seeing some figs too.
otoh, my potted ones are producing from last years wood already. Bordeaux and Celeste.
