Dammit, I’m out. Seems like lightning, from that storm today, took out a circuit in my house and also fried my computer (which just got repaired yesterday) and seems to have also taken out the FIOS modem. So I will be spending time working on returning power to the one part of house and fighting with Verizon.

I wouldn’t have ridden today if it wasn’t July. Thought about Frank as I weighed going or not. So I propose a mulligan for motivating the rest of us to get out and try our best.

6/31. Didn't really want to ride today, but decided I would anyway. Night ride, slow ride around the local developments. Bunch of houses lightning off fireworks was neat. No pictures. Tried to snap a picture of a frog on my driveway but he was hopping away too fast, couldn't keep him in the light.

Planned to sleep in. Woke up at 6am sweating trying to figure out why would the wife turn off the ceiling fan abs why isn’t the AC on. Then I hear what sounds like a power washer in the distance until I fully woke up and figured out the power was out. After reporting it to JCPL and finding our power return is estimated at 2pm, somehow fell back to sleep for an hour. Spent the next hour or so procrastinating In the nice cool family room debating if I set up the generator and extension cords. Just as I decided to get things ready the power came back on. I wanted to ride earlier because it was so bad out and I didn’t really want to go out in the heat but I went anyway because of this challenge.
Instead if my planned loop I took it nice and easy and was glad to be done.

Forgot to take any ride pics this time I was wacked out from the heat. Drank both water bottles for an easy hour ride.

If it wasn’t a group ride for someone’s bday I would have been out for a 7am ride for less distance because this humidity is awful and was much worse starting at 9:30.
We met at the Burnt Mills Cider place and rode as a pretty big group (30+)
to/from there and had a few drinks after. I went through 5 bottles of water/Gatorade on this ride and then 2 more water bottles from the cooler in the car when i got back. I guess I did ok no cramps and maybe very mild dehydration which was easily fixed with the extra water after. Glad I bailed on my ride after an hour yesterday because today I felt strong considering the heat and I was able to put a few good solid efforts in on the climbs with some PRs.

I’ve got one more work day off tmw since it’s my wedding anniversary and I might actually be able to ride this year. but like @Purl says back to the office a few days next week will make it much harder to get the hour in especially with any Tstorms.
