Unreal how hard, but also how gorgeous the gravel is here. Had a great Independence Day Ride. Now time to ruin all that fitness progress by drinking a bunch of beer, eating a brat, a cheeseburger, a hotdog, wings, and then light stuff on fire to honor America like our Founding Fathers would have wanted.

Got a later start than I wanted after having to swap out the bad rear tire for a better spare and then make sure I put by saddle bag supplies in order. It was already getting hot and humid-er when I left at 11 but I figured a flat steady out and back route would be better than any hills for 2 hours. Well I went a little too deep and started to feel the very early signs of getting overheated and dehydrated despite the Gatorade Zero was drinking. I was glad I made the smart decision to Turn around when I did the last 5 miles or so I was definitely feeling slightly wonky. Nothing like jumping in the cold pool to get rid of that feeling it was all I could think about those last 5 miles.
To mark the occasion of today I did my own version of “capture the flag” and took pics whenever I saw one and was able. Well except the last 5-8 miles 🥵🤪
I think I took 25ish pics but only added a few here.

Day 4 - over ambitious loop. Cut short the ride and dove into the pool. Chaneling Iman29… felt the same way the last few miles.

4/31 drove up to my sister's house in Lebanon with the family yesterday with a plan to get an early morning ride in around round valley. But we stayed up way to late and I just couldn't get outta bed in time. So didn't get a chance to ride until we got back home. Ride to, through, and back from Ceres. These rides into dusk are a little brutal here. I start getting bombarded with bugs as the sun sets, it's kinda terrible.
