1:42 Mugged in the Face
This vine caught me right in the mouth and couldnt see it because right after a S turn between the tree and stump.

Luckily wasn't going fast but it did cut/bruise my lip.

I will spare you the bloody teeth picture.
Also, cleared roughly 197 spider webs with my face/helmet. I may have yelled after a few. Deadly humidity in the woods, may have to road it tomorrow.

Between the rock one day and the vine the next I’d be terrified to chance the road.😱.

It's about this point that I question why I'm doing this. 😁
I literally said the same thing to myself out loud this morning during my ride - especially with my achy knee acting up.

I realized this morning too on these "minimum time" rides I need to go even slower/easier than I have been doing to make it more like a real recovery ride.
all that being said, I have actually been on a 12 day riding streak since i did a few days end of june around my bday, and despite my not so strict diet I have lost about 2-3 lbs. Probably due to the extreme heat humidity and sweating the last week but i'll take it.

will see what tmw brings - one day at a time.

It is truly one day at a time. But I do believe that this challenge is beneficial as it shows a daily ride is indeed possible. It is way more important than sitting on the couch and watching tv, it provides physical activity and helps your mind/mood. I know the more I ride, the better I feel. I know for a fact that my ride schedule pleases my doctor and has inspired other patients to get exercise, one even wants to ride with me!! Like anything else in life, progress takes work but unlike other work, this is fun. Enjoy it, embrace it, and keep it going past July!!

Did the rail trail with the Mrs. I can’t come to terms that it just feels like cheating. It’s nothing against other doing this challenge more of a personal thing. This ride was done to be able to enjoy an after work one with Melissa as well as prep myself for a bit of a punisher tomorrow a 4pm Clayton pre-TM trail ride, if anyone is interested.

2:11 RTR V.4, 'round the ridge version 4.
Forgot my taillight so naturally rode the busiest roads in the area. Actually NJ 31 is butter smooth and has a huge shoulder. I have done a few versions of this route that basically goes around the sourland ridge, which kinda doesn't really on the western side but almost does on the eastern side. Regardless, steady state pretty much the whole time.

First pre office ride for this challenge. Helps to set everything up the night before and have the riding kit already in the bedroom to get changed quick. Except this morning I woke up early before my alarm and my lower back was screaming and I was having trouble even putting my socks on. Spent 15 minutes doing gentle lower back stretches and it made an immediate difference. Will have to add that to the list of recovery stuff I do.

Despite what I said above in my previous post I didn’t go slower and I did more than an hour today since I had some time. Recovery boots for an hour last night made a HUGE difference on how the legs felt today. Kept it flat and steady and got lucky the sun didn’t really break through at all to make it more steamy.

Got to work on getting more than 5-6 hours of sleep at night to maintain this challenge.

Saw my around the corner neighbor with her horse I mean dog Duke. She can only walk him odd hours since everyone wants to talk and try to pet him since he’s circus freak size.
