31/31 - Decided to finish it off with a Fasted Fifty… I don’t know why, I just did. I was expecting to get rained on. Never happened.

Stopped for a quick photo at Petty Lake in Hightstown. So peaceful.

Not 90 seconds of ride time later… I’m being splattered with sealant. I guess I got rained on after all ☺️

Sidewall slash made plugging it impossible. Tire boot and tube it is.

Had to baby it the last 15 or so miles home, stopping every few miles to top off the air/co2 cuz the brand new tube was definitely not 100% . 🤷‍♂️

It’s been a fun month, but I’m glad it’s over.

See ya in the funny pages 😎

Time to alternate between mountain bike and gravel bike going forward.

My free version of Strava does not give me information for this month on days ridden, miles etc. Hoping it will make that available tomorrow.

Thanks everyone for all the encouragement to help me keep pushing for the month.

Congratulation to everyone who participated 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

If you log in on the website vs. Mobile app you can get all the stats for free. Just go to the training calendar.

This is the best I can get out of Strava without paying. Screen similar to @Juggernaut is listed under Training Log, which is behind pay wall. If over the next couple of days the mobile app starts showing the stats for July, I will replace above with similar screen.

This tells it all!
and hell yeah. go ahead and click back through the months to properly celebrate this one.

someone way smarter than me can tell you what to do with the base you've built.

For me the biggest hurdle was time for the challenge. I am a night owl so I really have a hard time waking up early in the morning to ride before work. After work I tried to get the hour in before hunger sets in.

I do want to make one change which is try clip less pedals but bit hesitant to try them. So might compromise and get pedals that are clip less on one side and flat on another with appropriate shoes.

I have a pair you can have. they are spd on one side.

Ignore @Norm - well, eat the ice cream, you need a combo of endurance and speed work.
So some 90 minute rides at a conversational pace, then some interval work (whatever that means)

if you want to get better at tech, you'll need to ride it. but before that - every time you stop, see how long you can track stand before putting a foot down.
And as Jeremy told me, keep pedaling (which doesn't make sense with the track stand thing until you do it.)

Oh, and climb - get down there on canal, then cut off and go up coppermine or old Georgetown (it is a loop.)
use that to track how you are progressing with fitness. use a CR loop to track your bike handling.

Big month - keep building!

Come see me. You have earned some shoes.

those who have completed the 31/31 challenge, please send me a DM. I will have a reward for your efforts at the shop with your name on it.

This challenge started long ago, and frankly I would have ended it if not for the constant push to keep it going.

That's all she wrote!!

448.35 miles 29,532 elevation. 31/31 days and attended every Clayton TM

Purl pointed out a week or so ago that I may Everest in July. Happy to achieve that on the group ride this evening

Finishing it with friends on the group ride was great. I can't believe it's over! Great job to all and thanks J for putting this on!

I wasnt aware of 31/31 at all until a few days before and just kinda jumped in.

Its been fun and taught me a lot as a mtber. 😁🫡

31/31. It’s over.

Tonight ended awesome. Big community ride hosted by EPS Riptide.

Some take aways:
-I feel like I am a diesel truck after this much volume. I’m not going to be fast, but can keep going if needed.
-My low end fitness has increased A LOT. When I’m at the point of just holding on keeping myself from bonking, I’m a bit faster than I used to be.
-Tried hopping back on flats this month, I like them in DH, not so much tech and trails.
-Solo days in the pain cave just hit different sometimes. I only have a mountain bike but I do like mindless power down pedaling on the Barnegat Branch Rail Trail.

Thanks to friends for pushing me through, @jdog for keeping this alive for us, and congrats to all the finishers! I’ll update in the future with full stats for the month.

Time to rest, take a single day off the bike and celebrate a good month with a MTB trip up in the ADK!

31 of 31!
The most awesome day at Big Sky! My trip ends tomorrow so I will be traveling most of the day, and NOT riding a bike! Over the past 10 days I visited 3 states and 3 bike parks. Montana and Big Sky win! I'll come back here if I get the opportunity.

These two resonate exactly for me. Just at this point in the month it takes me the whole hour to warm up.

Other recaps I didn't include.

Starting out "slow" helped a little on the few of the later longer rides I did.
Knees and area right above the knees were always the most sore.
Planning, being prepared, and time management helps make the rides go easier.
A single 1 hour ride could include 15-20 min getting dressed/bottles ready/15 minutes on the tail end.

Props to all who did it. We all know its not easy!
