Did you see those GIANT piles on Murphys?? Almost as high as the snow guns.

Organ grinder. Same sort of thing - 10' tall piles of snow, no visibility whatsoever because of the guns. Pretty pretty awesome, really. I don't know Murphy's.

We are heading up next weekend again to VT (1/27-29). Maybe Stratton-Killington. Staying in West Rutland. I think I read you're heading up also? I sort of pushed the issue after I read your post about the predictions. After looking at Weather Underground, I see 22" or more in all 3 of the Ikon parks up there. Hopefully some of that materializes.

Vermont needs snow BAD. I'm up at Stowe and it's skiing fast grass. Let's hope they get something soon or no one will be skiing anything

Murphy's Glade is to the left of Super Bravo chair when going up. Yes, planning to ski Saturday and early Sunday at Stratton, waiting on my hosts confirmation 🙂

Ah ok, yes I remember that one. We saw it but stayed on the Organ grinder trail after we got off the lift.

Never been to Bellayre but would like to try it. From Google Earth looks like almost all runs are pretty narrow though. While tight trails are fun, I really prefer to spend most of the day on runs where I can carve big arcs and not worry about running out of room or running into straightliners. Does Bellayre suit that preference? Windham has some but at $127/$165/day Fthat, and I don’t like the Hunter layout frankly. I could go to my usual local Mtn (Elk) but was planning on meeting folks for a ride in the Catskills that weekend too, hence looking in that area. Thoughts?

Bellayre is a fun little mountain. Dot Nebal will def allow you to make big gs turns, it will just be over quick. A lot of the trails are exactly the same, the top is flat so skating or 1 footing may be necessary depending on which way you wanna go. It can get busy on a weekend, but no where near Hunter level. I’m a ORDA pass holder so bell is something I’ll hit in the morning before work (100 mins door to door for me) but I wouldn’t make a weekend out of it.

As a snowboarder, the top of Bellayre kinda sucks because it's a flat traverse to get to the outer trails. Other than that it's a fun little mountain. The true beginner stuff is mostly from the mid-mtn lodge to the bottom so if you stay on the top half you can avoid the newbs for the most part.

Steamboat just surpassed last year's snow totals!

Are you flying to Yampa? Car rental or shuttle?
Yeah very psyched. Hope it keeps up. Flying into Hayden, shuttle to the mountain. Staying at The Lodge (Airbnb) about 6 min walk to gondola. Let me know if you’ll be around and I’ll IM you my cell. 🤙

Heading up to Killington on Wed night or Thursday morning. Looks like I may have timed it right. Plan is to do a day trip on Friday to Saskadena Six, hit Pico on Saturday. Hit Killington on Thursday and Sunday depending when I head up.

Maybe we’ll see you there Sunday!

I'll be in Northampton, MA on Saturday. Probably hit one of the little hills - better than nothing. slightly.

Killington was pretty good today. Crowds were minimal considering how full the lots were surprisingly. They had a bunch of stuff open that was thin cover grass skiing but not many sharks. Some dust over boilerplate at high traffic intersections. They were blowing on Outer Limits and there were huge whales up top, but they had it open which was super fun. Hoping tomorrow is even better. 🤞🏼

Thinking about renting instead of traveling with my snowboard for an upcoming trip. Anyone here rented in the Georgetown, CO area. Pickup or delivery. We're doing 4 days from there at Winter Park, Copper, A-basin and possibly Steamboat, not in any particular order. I've reached out to Black Diamond Sports in Georgetown. Looked at Christy Sports, but doesn't look like they deliver to Georgetown. There's also Breeze Ski Rental (Burton) and Ski Butlers (Rossignol) that will deliver. Comparing the cost of renting for 4 days vs. baggage fee of 3 flights @ $50ish + having my board tuned before the trip est $30.
