Suicide Six or whatever they are calling it now was good today. No lines, decent snow, and a 40.00 lift ticket. Came back to my condo and was going to go get a bite to eat and a beer or two on the access road here at Killington and it was insane. Saturday is gonna be crazy on the hill, hopefully Pico does not have the crowds. Can’t remember the last time I used a wicket. 😁

We were at Stratton today, stopped on the drive up. It cannot be described as awesome. The 24" of snow they apparently got in the last 10 days is pretty much long gone. It's more or less ice with a smattering of snow on top right now.
I wanted to go somewhere more local to Boston than Stratton today but I figured the snow there would be pretty bad given where the rain/snow line was in the recent storm. I made a great decision.

I can’t ever remember a time that Pico had lines. One of the best kept “secrets” in Central VT. Of course I haven’t been there since pre-COVID, before former couch potatoes and mall rats discovered the great outdoors. 🙃

Pico will always be the best “little” mountain imo. Learned to ski there, raced, spent many nights sledding sundowner and triple slope. My Great uncle was a share holder and then owned it for a few years in the 90’s so my cousins and I felt like kings. Still have scars from the alpine slide. Kinda glad the connection to killington never happened.

Saw on Strava you went to North. Not as big as Lincoln but never even close to as busy.

We started at Ellen, then at halftime decided to stay, basically why go over there? The snow was really good and like you said, just not a lot of people. Even when the lot is full, the mountain really doesn't get that packed. The crossover lift isn't running, so we would have needed to drive, which you know would somehow end up burning 45 minutes to possibly be met with 5,000 people at the base.

We were also there 2 weeks ago on the Lincoln side only. We're just balancing things out.

Confirmed! Was surprised by the amount of ice, Standard and Franks were the best options when opened. Skied with my sister and her extended family so didn't venture off into the woods at all so can't comment on them.

I'd rather ski ice then not ski at all but was jelly for the northern VT conditions.

That is taken from lift service at Stowe. But technically not in bounds at Stowe.
Off the Gondola or Quad? is that camel's hump in the distance? The trees between the gondola and the quad are some of the best in the east. I know everybody loves Jay's woods, and they are great, but I would put that area of Stowe, #1 in the east for tree skiing.

I've never been off the resort anywhere in Vermont, when I see that rope, with the little ski area boundary sign, that's as far as I go.
