2nd Annual MTBNJ Picnic

Without digging through months of posts, can you please describe the structure that will keep the guests dry. I will be driving kinda far and was wondering what to expect. If it is a wash for riding will the alcohol limit be raised a few drinks?😕

It pretty much looks something like this:

It's a pretty big pavilion. probably 30-40' long by 20' wide? Roughly.

Beer is your own call. Last year the park police swung by a few times and I'm sure they will this year. As long as you're not driving, do your thing. Of course if you are, we ask that you act responsibly.

Sorry guys, chances are VERY high that I can not attend.

Due to some unforeseen events, a lot of us Air Force guys have just lost all of our days off.

Gotta serve the country first, yadda yadda yadda...

I will miss you all greatly. 🙁

Canopys

They're generally fine with shedding rain. But at this point there's a 100% chance of rain tomorrow and 90% for Saturday. So I think this will be limited to straight up picnicing. And maybe some horse shoes 🙂

If anybody's got an EZ-up canopy maybe they can bring it. I've got a 10x10 I'll bring. We'll get a tent city going at LM.

I've got some horse dealies we can throw. I can bring 'em cuz beers & shoes go together so well.

Double Crap

Just found out from the Mrs. that we get booted off the boat of our one night cruise thing at 9am sunday morning. I was like, "that's not even a 24 hour vacation?!!". But then of course I thought, well wait a minute so at least we can go to the picnic, and then I got the "we've got a million things to do thing, and after 15 minutes of me saying that I will take the kids and that will give her a day to catch up with less stress, I got that to go over. Only to find out the damn picnic is SATURDAY!:mad2:

I have no shoes. Anyone?

I have shoes and will bring them.
Of course if you are drinking, we ask that you toss responsibly.:hysterica

I also have some huge tarps I'll stash in the van. Good to keep out any wind and driving rain. Think the park will allow us to put a couple nails in the eaves to secure them to? Otherwise, we can go the bungee route.

Any chance people will be there before noon? Like 10-11?

If so I might be able to stop by for an hour or maybe two.

10:00 was the start time if rides were going out. The official time is 12:00, but I am sure some of us will be there earlier chanting "no rain no rain no"

I will volunteer to be there at 10:00 if people want to show earlier. I believe Fred is on board with an early start time but I'm waiting to hear from hime today. I've got a day pass for this one so I'm totally on board with helping people get a little picnic action on a bit early if needed.

Hopefully this rain plows through fatser than expected and by noon it's just a light misty overcast grey. A friend of mine once gave me good advice though. You can want in one hand and shit in the other, and see which one fills up faster.

Man last minute changes suck. Saw te thread and found out i am sitting in the rain in Rutgers stadium to watch them loose to morgan ST. Should be a lot more fun than finally meeting people form the group.

Come on, why would you bother to go to that game? It's total lose-lose. If RU wins you know it's going to be line 19-14, and you walk away grumpy and wet. Worst case it's like the Temple loss a few years ago. If they lose, you don't want to be there.

besides the game is not until 3:30 anyway...i see the possibility to do both.

If the rain passes by the afternoon how about a ride?

PS - Norm bring the jersey!

Sounds good, I still don't know for sure but chances are pretty good I can be there @ 10. 🙂

I'd have to leave by about 12:30.

Ok, well it might be me and you and some frozen burgers. But hey, their loss.

See you then! (maybe)

I'll be there between 10:30 and 11:00, with charcoal. Now if we can convince Rockstar to show up with the matches...:hmmm:
