Agreed....Very well done @KenS !
So as a newbie, I know WHEN/WHY we say it, but I need to know the origin.yes it is cheeseburger I hate auto correct it was always cheeseburger thanks for checking it...
When we first started traveling north to ride with the Allamuchy and Ringwood crews this chant to let the leader know that the group was all together was introduced to us Allaire folk. @pixychick do you recall the origin? It may have been Frank and Karen W. who coined it, or may predate them?So as a newbie, I know WHEN/WHY we say it, but I need to know the origin.

Maybe it was Frank, but I definitely started hearing it in the early JORBA days. I remember asking wth it meant at the first mooch ride that Frank and I drove to together around 2005 or so.That's interesting, as I always thought it originated from the South Jersey folks.
Right, just wondering if Frank cooked it up (yes, I know) or if he brought it south after that mooch ride.It was how we let Frank know we were together, and ready to start back up. ( it was easier to give a definitive answer to"are we good?". It could not be confused, like with No/go etc.....) I actually caught up to the ride after it had started, and didn't know what was going on. When someone yelled that out, I made fun of it, until I found out why we were doing it. After that, it was just the way.
No one else is claiming it, so I guess it's his...I pretty sure it started down in the sand.
It was a Frank'ism. When asked to come up with a phrase to mean "we're all good" he said "I like cheeseburgers, so let's go with that".Right, just wondering if Frank cooked it up (yes, I know) or if he brought it south after that mooch ride.
I do not recall it starting with workman. I think it came from Frank or down south. When we first started traveling north to ride with the Allamuchy and Ringwood crews this chant to let the leader know that the group was all together was introduced to us Allaire folk. @pixychick do you recall the origin? I think this may have been when we went to Lehigh back in the day. I know I first heard it on a ride with Frank outside of the sand trap.It was a Frank'ism. When asked to come up with a phrase to mean "we're all good" he said "I like cheeseburgers, so let's go with that".
In the recent past Frank was reminiscing about the origin of "Cheeseburger!". He said he went on a ride way out in PA (maybe Raystown??) and had heard a group using the phrase. He didn't know them, but it made him laugh that his goofy idea had grown legs over the years
Excellent. I'm glad our friends have a better memory than I do =)I do not recall it starting with workman. I think it came from Frank or down south.
This - 100%. Frank always noted it did not sound like anything else. Back in the day the beginner rides could be 50+ deep, I asked Frank why Cheeseburger? Since I am a number cruncher and data geek, I was not standing for the “who doesn’t like cheeseburgers?” Frank noted stop, start, go etc were easily confused when said aloud to a group of 50+ talking and having a good time - cheeseburger, with multiple syllables is unique and stands out - people are probably not yelling it out, but they for sure know what it is.I remember the Tuesday night rides had that for we are ready to roll.
and it was used because it did not sound like "go,no,slow' it stood out as cheeseburger and just about everyone likes them.
