Transmission oil change at 30K??? No way...
Why? How much fluid could there possibly be?The trans oil change is probably $600 of that. Maybe more.

that's what they quoted for our XT5 - gotta be close?
12 qts and a special machine to do the flush?
It isn't just a drain and fill.
Don’t forget this.View attachment 228636
Is that the winter blend?fluid "weight" is brilliant
Have you ever prices Mobil1 AFT?it most certainly CAN be done as a drain and fill (ok so drain and fill would be like an 80-85% change, but still), pan needs to come down anyway since the filter is inside, and on some of them its integrated into the pan (yea wtf thought THAT was a good idea??)
i think most autos are 12+ qts these days, the 8 speeds especially, but the zf 8 speeds are filled with a 'lifetime' fluid, i mean we know thats BS, but 30k is still too soon.
ZF fluid is $$$$ i think it was like $12-$15/qt last time i checked.

I’m more like a ZF 4HP22 kinda guy.last time i checked it wasnt compatible with the zf 8 speeds, but it has admittedly been a while.
Any battery recommendation for a bmw? Wife's 2017 is likely overdue.
Nothing is simple with a modern car. Apparently the new battery needs to be "registered" in order to work properly. Went down rabbit hole of discussions on whether this is really needed and whether it can be DIY with a code reader.they all suck these days, i go straight to the wholesaler and buy em there, at least i get a decent (relative to the big stores) price.
you are definitely on borrowed time there, 4 years is average lifespan for a car battery these days.
