Biggest crash in stock market history?

Can't believe those posts from Saturday stuck around. Seems waaaaay over any kind of line and not something I'd want associated with a site that I spend time on.

I've voted for obama, hilary, biden; I've bought merch from sandars, aoc and just ordered an "elect hoes" sweater from hunt out of philly.

I think removing yourself from the conversation is exactly what you don't want to do. I want to call you a snowflake but I won't because I basically did, if this is over the line I'll give you my wife's 94 year old grandmothers number so you can complain about being able to see my sister in laws unmarried elbows.

The beauty of all of this is that you actually don't have to be associated with it if you don't want to. You go up to the upper right of your screen and press the "x" button...and that's it, unassociated.

My only question is whether the ban hammer is like Thor’s hammer in that can only Thor wield it, or can someone else who is pure of heart and virtue also heave it’s weight?

Bottom line is why did Putin stay sequestered for 4 years? Why did NK pipe down? China rattled the cage a little but only because they, like NK, like to stay in the spotlight. Because Trump wasn't a *****. Biden is a *****. It's all about who has their finger on the trigger at this moment. Dictators aren't complicated, they act when they feel the gettin' is good. Way of the world - strike when the iron is hot. Until we have someone with balls again the White House, this is what we live with. May the 80 million who voted with their transgendered bathroom toilet paper enjoy the shit show. I guess the rest of us are forced to enjoy it as well.

I see the left is still well entrenched in the bizarro world. Your views are exactly 180 degrees from the truth. Blaming Trump for the Ukraine is beyond laughable - have you forgotten Putin took the Crimea when Obama was president? Was that Trump's fault too? The reality is Putin was not afraid of Obama and has zero fear or respect for the global joke that is Biden. Obama nailed it about Biden: "Never underestimate Joe's ability to f&ck things up." And that is exactly what he has done - on virtually every issue.
Ok im back from vacation and getting caught up on this thread. While I generally agree that Binden is awful and jesus christ what has this country come to when our choices for president are trump or biden.....However....if you THINK trump kept putin at bay then you must also think that putin was concerned about some force stopping him....So right now as a response, Trump would have us in a war with Russia....is that what you would want? I mean trump just recently said: "We should be chinese flags on our jets and bomb the shit out of Russia"....thats pretty much what my 7 year old would say....As I usually say to myself after Trump speaks..."he had to be joking right, he can't be that dumb can he?" So would either of you want the US to be in a hot war with Russia?

And if you think trump pulling out of Nato...and thus removing Nato's real teeth would make this situation better? I'd love to know how? Putin is going to be MORE afraid of Nato's response to the Ukraine invasion without the US?

As someone who grew up in the 80s and saw every movie about nuclear war....lived thru the news trying to scare us constantly....I was never too worried about it...always seemed to me that at the end of the day, cooler heads (MAD) would prevail, and they have. Id say that im probably more concerned about this they I ever have been....Im not building a bunker or running out to buy weapons, but putin painting himself into a corner does concern me a bit.

bottom line, every president from clinton THRU binden has done nothing to putin no matter hes done.

A friend of ours works for a large financial/investing company that everyone here knows. They use math and statistical models to come up with odds for all sorts of things that impact their investment strategy. She said their math nerds say there is a 5% chance of WWIII. I think that seems kind of high, as that would require China to openly side with Russia and take on the rest of the world together. China seems rational enough to realize they need people to export their products to, so I don't see that happening. I agree with you though, the only real fear here seems to be putting a man with nuclear weapons in a corner.

I should actually correct myself....bc whether you think its something or not...fact is, Binden's response is the harshest thing anyone has done to Putin since he has taken power.

I am not a Trumper. However, MAD did work for 50+ years. There is a benefit to your opponent thinking you won't always do the logical thing.

I agree, its been working and like I said...I have never REALLY worried about anyone nuking someone.....Like even the crazies such as kim jong un....I don't worry about them so much...they want to keep themselves isolated, prevent invasions and thus prevent people removing them from power.....its at least somewhat rational. With the Cuban missile crisis....I know things got close, however neither side wanted to use nukes.....if the Russian economy continues to tank, the Russians continue to fail to take the Ukraine.....losses keep mounting, more civil unrest....would he do something drastic? I'd like to think not, but negotiations often come down to a leader being able to save face somehow and I can't currently see that path at the moment.
